HIG WhiteHorse, a credit affiliate of global investment firm HIG Capital (“HIG”), has arranged a refinancing package for Kermel (the “Company”), which also includes a growth capital component. Kermel is a technical fibre manufacturer for flame and heat resistant clothing. The Company manufactures polyamide-imide fibres for garments dedicated to personal protection that demonstrate exceptional resistance to heat, fire and abrasion in extreme circumstances. Nova Pangaea Technologies, a UK company which converts woody and agricultural residues into sustainable biocarbons, biofuels, biochemicals and biopolymers has raised a further GBP2.4 million from existing investors as part of a successful Series A funding round. The latest investment has been led by Par Equity, alongside Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund (NPIF) and Cambridge Angels as well as several existing private investors. Australian technology company Calix Limited (ASX: CXL) (“Calix” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce global decarbonisation investor Carbon Direct Capital Management has invested EUR15 million for a 6.98 per cent equity stake in Calix subsidiary, the LEILAC Group, which is dedicated to the commercialisation and ongoing development of Calix’s LEILAC CO2 capture technology. In addition, as part of the transaction, Calix has entered into a licence agreement with the LEILAC Group under which it will retain 30 per cent of royalties earned by the LEILAC Group from deployment of the technology, regardless of Calix’s equity stake in the LEILAC Group.
Align Capital Partners (ACP) has sold its portfolio company Pleatco Filtration (Pleatco) to Pentair for USD255 million.   Completion of the transaction, which marks ACP’s third announced exit to date in 2021, is subject to customary closing conditions.  Headquartered in Louisville, KY, Pleatco is a leading aftermarket-focused manufacturer of highly-engineered clean air and pool & spa water filtration technologies that helps protect people, processes and the environment.  ACP acquired Pleatco in June 2017 and has spent the last four years professionalizing and growing the business through several key initiatives.  During the partnership, Pleatco more than doubled its revenue and increased
