CVC Capital Partners VIII has agreed to acquire a majority interest in Rayner, the global ophthalmology business from Phoenix Equity Partners, the UK growth-focused private equity firm, for an undisclosed amount.  Rayner is a manufacturer and developer of innovative intraocular lenses (IOLs) and associated pharmaceuticals. The Company’s products deliver sight-restorative implants and treatments to patients during cataract and refractive surgeries. Turquoise, the UK merchant bank specialising in energy, environment and efficiency, has invested in Ablatus Therapeutics for the Low Carbon Innovation Fund 2 (LCIF2). The investment of GBP85,000 is part of an overall round which could reach GBP1.5 million. Acrew Capital and Mubadala Capital have invested USD29.5 million in a Series A financing round for San Francisco-based health and wellness platform Paceline, which rewards its users for exercising with financial incentives.  The round was led by Acrew Capital, with participation from Mubadala Capital along with existing investors, and the firms will aim to guide the platform’s expansion and support scale amid growing consumer demand, according to the company.  Fitness-technology app Paceline will specifically use the fresh capital to build out its team as the company expands their rewards program, and intends to extend the rollout of a full embedded financial platform later this
Online flowers and gifts delivery specialist Floward has raised GBP19.8 million (USD27.5 million) in a Series B funding round led by STV with participation from Impact46. MidCap Financial Issuer Trust is proposing to issue USD400 million aggregate principal amount of senior notes due 2030 (the Notes) in a private offering that is exempt from the registration requirements of the Securities Act of 1933, as amended.  The offering is subject to market conditions and other factors.
