Katten’s 2021 SPAC Survey, which is baed on the results of one poll of 80 investment professionals in March and another of 100 investment professionals in May, has found that investors who participated in at least one SPAC transaction – as either sponsors, investors, advisors or underwriters – say they expect SPAC activity to increase at least through 2022.

Printful, an industry-leading print-on-demand drop shipping and fulfilment company has secured a USD130 million non-control investment from private equity firm Bregal Sagemount.
The financing establishes Printful as the first privately owned company with Latvian roots to achieve unicorn status with a valuation of above USD1 billion. The new partnership will support the launch of additional products and services and the expansion into new channels and geographies.

Private equity firm Supernova Capital has fully acquired Player1 Events from GAME.
Craig Fletcher, the founder of Multiplay and the Insomnia Gaming Festival, will return to lead Insomnia operations following the acquisition. Fletcher will also join Supernova’s executive team and provide the driving force and entrepreneurial spirit behind Supernova’s future plans for live events and esports.
All existing P1E staff will be retained as part of the acquisition and will be potentially working on an Insomnia event in 2021 along with future events planned in the UK and internationally in 2022 and beyond.

BGF – the UK & Ireland’s most active growth capital investor – invested GB{6.3 million in Dianomi in February 2018 to drive international expansion and support the growth of its team.
The AIM listing for Dianomi represents the first UK IPO of a BGF portfolio company. The IPO price represents a market capitalisation on admission of GBP82.0 million.

Financial Services Capital (FSC), a private equity investor dedicated to the European financial services sector, has completed its acquisition of a stake in JZ Lending Ltd, which controls Spanish consumer finance specialist Unión Financiera Asturiana (Ufasa).
The Bank of Spain has approved FSC’s investment into this regulated financial services company.
Ufasa is an independent consumer finance specialist, founded in 1984 and headquartered in Oviedo, Asturias, that was initially partly acquired by JZ International in 2020.
