This round is the latest in a string of similar investments within the health tech space for Warburg Pincus. The global growth equity PE group has poured in excess of USD12 billion and USD22 billion to date into health care and technology companies respectively, including Alignment Healthcare, Experity, Intelligent Medical Objects, Modernizing Medicine, and Outset Medical.

Global early-stage venture capital firm Antler has closed its first Nordic fund, which was oversubscribed at USD36 million. Participants include Draper Esprit, Kistefos, the Danish state fund Vækstfonden, and the Norwegian state fund Investinor.
The Antler Nordic fund will continue to invest in innovative startups in Sweden, Norway and Denmark, with strong and complementary co-founding teams, validated business models and global potential. Antler also recently announced that its investment strategy in Denmark would focus on backing green, sustainable companies.

Internationally, carsales operates several marketplaces across both the automotive and specialty vehicle segments with leading properties such as demotores.com in Argentina and EnCar in South Korea.

The management of environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues is moving up the board agenda for private equity, however climate risk exposure requires greater scrutiny, according to a new survey released by PwC.
The Private Equity Responsible Investment Survey 2021 draws upon the views of 209 respondents from 35 countries and territories, including 198 PE houses.
It finds that, compared with 2019, there is a shift from 35 per cent to 56 per cent of respondents stating that ESG features in board meetings more than once a year.

Huma Therapeutics Limited has completed its latest funding round with financing of approximately USD130 million. The investment will scale Huma’s modular platform which can power digital ‘hospitals at home’ nationally, and support the pharmaceutical and research industries to run the largest ever decentralized clinical trials.

The value-based private equity arm of The Riverside Company has acquired Alcohol Monitoring Systems, Inc (dba SCRAM Systems), a provider of technology-enabled monitoring solutions and groundbreaking offender management software for state and local judicial systems and corrections departments.
SCRAM Systems will be combined with Riverside’s LMG Holdings, Inc (LMG) platform, with its flagship brand LifeSafer, a leading provider of ignition interlock devices used to help prevent drink-driving.

Eurazeo’s small-mid buyout team has signed an exclusivity agreement with the aim of investing in I-TRACING alongside the company’s management and founders Theodore-Michel Vrangos and Laurent Charvériat, who would collectively hold 49 per cent of the company’s equity after completion of the transaction.
Keensight Capital, minority financial shareholder in the French cybersecurity specialist since 2017, would sell its entire stake while Sagard NewGen would invest as a minority shareholder in a holding company controlled by Eurazeo.
The transaction would value I-TRACING at EUR165 million. Eurazeo would become an anchor investor of the group by investing around EUR65 million.
