GPD Companies, Inc (GPD), an affiliate of One Rock Capital Partners, LLC (One Rock), has completed the previously announced acquisition of Distrupol, a leading European distributor of thermoplastics to the polymer processing industry, from Univar Solutions Inc (NYSE: UNVR). Terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.
Distrupol will become part of GPD, a global holding company for value-added plastics distribution entities including Nexeo Plastics. Under GPD’s ownership, Distrupol and Nexeo Plastics will continue to operate as independent entities and brands and be led by their existing management and commercial teams.

Carey Olsen’s corporate team in Jersey has advised Digital 9 Infrastructure plc, a newly established Jersey listed fund, on its initial placing and offer for subscription and placing programme.
Raising gross proceeds of GBP300 million, the ordinary shares of Digital 9 Infrastructure have been admitted to trading on the Specialist Fund Segment of the London Stock Exchange (LSE) Main Market. The company will invest in a range of digital infrastructure assets, including subsea and terrestrial fibre, data centres, tower infrastructure and small cell networks.

A subsidiary of Ares Management Corporation (Ares) (NYSE: ARES) has has entered into a definitive agreement with a subsidiary of BrightSphere Investment Group Inc (NYSE: BSIG) and Landmark Investment Holdings LP to acquire 100 per cent of Landmark Partners, LLC (collectively with its subsidiaries, Landmark), one of the largest and most experienced investors in acquiring secondary private fund ownership stakes in the alternative asset management industry.
The transaction is valued at USD1.08 billion, including approximately USD787 million in cash and approximately USD293 million in Ares Operating Group Units, in each case subject to certain adjustments.

In order to further the development of its platform and start pre-clinical development in the lab, Baseimmune has secured a GBP685,000 investment, led by European university VC fund, Creator Fund, and includes Mike Watson, ex-president of Moderna’s infectious disease spin-out with the support of Vaccitech and Oxford University. Maki VC and Rockmount Seed Investments also joined the round.

Tees Valley based cleantech company Nova Pangaea Technologies (Nova Pangaea) has experienced significant growth as a result of its two funding rounds with the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund (NPIF), including a 45 per cent increase in staff numbers since January 2020.

GP Bullhound has made a follow-on investment in Glovo, one of the world’s leading multi-category delivery players, as part of a Series F funding round of EUR450 million (USD530 million) led by Luxor Capital Group, with participation from existing investors including Delivery Hero and Drake Enterprises.

Healthcare start-up Béa Fertility has raised GBP800,000 (USD1 million) to bring an innovative at-home fertility treatment to the UK. The round was led by Calm/Storm VC and joined by Q Ventures, and includes an innovation grant from the recent InnovateUK SMART competition.
Founded by embryologist David O’Rourke and femtech specialist Tess Cosad, Béa Fertility is focused on democratising access to affordable, effective fertility treatments for couples and individuals who are struggling to conceive. It is estimated that infertility affects one in seven heterosexual couples in the UK.

Aquila European Renewables Income Fund (AERIF), a London-listed investment company advised by Aquila Capital Investmentgesellschaft mbh, has entered into a Sale and Purchase Agreement (SPA) to acquire 50 per cent of the equity in an unlevered Portuguese solar operating asset (Ourique).
Closing of the transaction is expected to occur in April 2021.
Ourique is located in Alentejo, Portugal, and has an installed capacity of c60 MWp. The solar farm started its operations in December 2019 and its power price hedges cover 100 per cent of the produced energy until March 2026.
Ourique will save approximately 17,035 tons of CO2 emissions
