Equistone portfolio company Amadys, a provider of passive network equipment solutions for utility infrastructures in the Benelux region, has established an initial market presence in Germany through the add-on acquisition of tso GmbH.
Based in Halver, in the western state of North Rhine-Westphalia, tso offers splicing and measurement technology, equipment and devices for fibre optic communications networks. The announcement follows Amadys’ recent acquisition of Dutch company Infraconcepts, announced in December 2020.

CVC Credit has further supported life sciences and diagnostics business, Calibre Scientific, by leading an incremental USD57 million multi-currency first lien credit facility to help fuel its ongoing global acquisition strategy. Calibre Scientific is owned by investment firm StoneCalibre.
CVC Credit originally provided a USD92 million multi-currency first lien credit facility for Calibre Scientific in June 2020. Since this time the company has significantly grown its top line and expanded its geographic footprint through five recently completed add-on acquisitions.

Platform9, an SaaS Managed Kubernetes provider for private and edge clouds, has closed its Series-D funding with an additional USD12.5 million for a total of USD37.5 million.
This round was led by WRVI Capital, with participation from all existing venture investors including NGP Capital, Mubadala Ventures, Canvas Ventures, Menlo Ventures, and Redpoint Ventures.
The additional funding follows accelerated business momentum in fiscal year 2020, with outstanding YoY growth led by Platform9’s Managed Kubernetes product:

Oghma Partners has acted as the exclusive financial adviser to the shareholders of Direct-to-Consumer, UK-based, SimplyCook Limited (SimplyCook) on the sale of the business to Nestlé.
The deal is the latest in Oghma’s healthy portfolio of successful cross-border, European transactions which have included advising Solina Group on the acquisition of UK-based Bowman Ingredients, and Givaudan SA on the divestment of both its pectin business to Herbstreith & Fox, and its processed and grated cheese business.
The deal demonstrates Oghma Partners’ expertise in working both with smaller founder-owned businesses and large multinationals across Europe.
SimplyCook’s founder Oli Ashness launched the
Lightbank, a Chicago-based venture capital firm, has closed its second early-stage venture capital fund, Lightbank II, with USD180 million of capital commitments.
The closing brings Lightbank’s total assets under management (AUM) to USD360 million. Lightbank II’s investor base is comprised of institutional investors, family offices, and high net worth individuals.
Lightbank II will be led by Founder and Managing Partner Eric Lefkofsky, who has also founded or co-founded Tempus, Groupon, MediaOcean, Innerworkings, and Echo Global Logistics. Intriva Capital (Intriva), an independent alternative asset manager, has acquired a significant stake and supported a management buy-out in MoneyPlus Group (MoneyPlus), one of the UK’s largest providers of consumer debt advice.
Intriva will provide additional funding to further enhance the depth, breadth and value of services for MoneyPlus’ customers in a total investment program of GBP60 million.
