Innovative investment technology platform Vauban, which has seen over 120 digital Funds launched on its platform, has raised GBP1.6 million in Seed funding from leading tech investors.  Europe’s most active proptech VC company, Pi Labs, is joined by Kima Ventures, Westloop Ventures, Argonautic Ventures and UFP Fintech, as Vauban leads the digitisation of the fund management industry. Founded in 2018, the scaling business, which has over GBP200 million managed through its platform, is set to launch a real estate product in 2021, in addition to its current digital Funds focusing on investment from venture capital funds, hedge funds and SPV’s.
Newable Ventures and Bristol Private Equity Club (BPEC) have secured GBP10 million in new funding from British Business Investments, a commercial subsidiary of the British Business Bank, to fund early stage businesses across the UK. The GBP10 million commitment from British Business Investments’ Regional Angels Programme will be invested by Newable Ventures, in partnership with BPEC, to deliver around GBP25 million of new funding. The commitment will be split between Newable’s Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS) fund, which supports a diversified UK-wide portfolio of knowledge intensive businesses, and a separate pool to back entrepreneurs and businesses specifically across the South West.
Mid-market private equity firm LDC and the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), have agreed the sale of NBS to Byggfakta Group, a data and software provider to the European construction industry headquartered in Sweden and backed by private equity firms Stirling Square Capital Partners and TA Associates.  Financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed. Headquartered in Newcastle UK, NBS is a global technology platform that combines the best content and connectivity for anyone involved in the design, supply and construction of the built environment.   LDC and the RIBA partnered to support the growth of NBS in
Longship, a Norway-based, lower mid-market buyout specialist, has closed its second buyout fund at its hard cap of NOK1.7 billion (cEUR160 million).  The announcement of Fund II comes less than five years after Fund I closed.  Longship now manages NOK3.1 billion (cEUR 300 million) in aggregated capital commitments across its two funds. Longship has taken a leading role in the Norwegian lower mid-market after being established by a team of experienced buyout professionals in 2015. Longship II will pursue the same transformational growth strategy as its predecessor fund, and invest in companies with significant growth potential, organically and through M&A.
CVC Credit Partners (CVC Credit) has priced Cordatus XIX, a Collateralised Loan Obligation (CLO) fund totalling EUR379 million arranged by Barclays. This will be the fifth CLO fund raised by CVC Credit in 2020 and increases our aggregate global issuance for the year to cUSD2.0 billion (cEUR1.7 billion). It is also the third European CLO fund raised, following the closing of Cordatus XVII in June (EUR290 million) and Cordatus XVIII in November (EUR383 million), together these three funds total more than EUR1 billion.   Cordatus XIX was assembled in just six weeks from a warehouse which opened in October and
Chicoa Fish Farm, a Mozambican-based company addressing the critical challenge of a lack of affordable protein in Southern Africa, has closed a Series A equity funding round totalling USD1.5 million from Goodwell Investments. Chicoa Fish Farm was founded by Gerard McCollum and Damien Legros in 2015 with the vision to provide a blueprint for a sustainable aquaculture industry across Africa. Since its inception, Chicoa has focused on securing its supply chain through primary production of tilapia, establishing a breeding program, and developing sales and distribution channels in Mozambique, Malawi, South Africa, and Zambia.  The USD1.5 million Series A funding boosts
Abris CEE Mid-Market III LP fund, managed by Abris Capital Partners (Abris), aprivate equity investor focused on Central Europe, is to acquire 100 per cent of the shares in Scanmed – a Poland-based healthcare network operator – from Life Healthcare Group Holdings Limited (Life Healthcare).  The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals and is expected to close in the first quarter of 2021. ADM Capital, a Hong Kong headquartered investment manager with specialist experience in Asia Pacific credit and sustainable investment, has received a USD100 million seed commitment from the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) to launch a new USD-denominated Asia-focused debt fund dedicated to renewable energy called the ADM Capital Elkhorn Emerging Asia Renewable Energy Fund.  Read the full story at Hedgeweek…  
Pan-European private equity firm Silverfleet Capital has agreed to sell its majority stake in 7days, a German supplier of workwear for the healthcare industry, to a consortium of private equity firms, Chequers Capital and Paragon Partners, generating a 3.1x gross money multiple.  Completion of the transaction is subject to regulatory approval and is expected by January 2021.   Founded in 1999 in Lotte, Germany, 7days is a leading supplier of modern and innovative medical workwear. 7days designs, produces and offers a wide range of high-quality products ranging from tunics to lab coats to more than 300,000 medical professional customers in
