RedBird Capital Partners has entered into a definitive agreement with Toulouse FC to acquire an 85 per cent majority stake in the French Ligue 2 football club.
Toulouse FC was relegated, along with Amiens, from the top tier of French football in April when clubs voted to end the season early due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Founded by Gerald Cardinale, RedBird has over USD4 billion of equity under management. Its investment partners have included the New York Yankees, the Dallas Cowboys and the United States Women’s National Soccer Team.

Vital Capital has partnered up with the US Government’s Kenya Investment Mechanism to provide funding to Kenyan agri-businesses that have been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Vital Capital is an impact investment private equity fund focused on companies in sub-Saharan Africa. “We are excited to launch this major collaboration to support Kenyan agribusinesses in what is an incredibly challenging economic environment,” said Nimrod Gerber, managing partner of Vital Capital.
KIM is a five-year program funded by the US Agency for International Development (USAID) to unlock financing to businesses that have been hit by the global pandemic.

GED Capital (GED), an independent private equity group specialised in the Spanish lower mid- market, and Oquendo Capital, a firm that specialises in flexible capital and private debt for Spanish lower mid-market companies, have reached an agreement on the terms of a sale of Gestión Tributaria Territorial (GTT) to AnaCap Financial Partners (AnaCap), a specialist European financial services private equity and credit firm, subject to regulatory approval.

Software and technology-focused private equity investor Thoma Bravo is to acquire Majesco, a provider of cloud insurance software solutions for insurance businesses, in a deal valuing the company at USD594 million. Following the closing of the transaction, Majesco will operate as a privately held company.
Under the terms of the agreement, all Majesco shareholders of record will receive USD13.10 in cash for each share of Majesco common stock upon closing of the transaction. The price represents a premium of approximately 74 per cent over Majesco’s average closing price during the 30-trading day period ended 17 July, 2020.

KPS Capital Partners (KPS), through a newly formed affiliate, has entered into an asset purchase agreement to acquire substantially all of the assets of Briggs & Stratton, including equity of foreign subsidiaries, for approximately USD550 million.
Briggs & Stratton has filed a motion with the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Missouri seeking the designation of KPS as the stalking horse bidder in a sale motion as part of the Company’s filing of voluntary petitions under Chapter 11 of the Bankruptcy Code today. British Patient Capital has invested USD65 million in SV Health Investors’s USD265 million fund, SV7 Impact Medicine Fund (IMF), which is dedicated to investing in biotech companies.
The IMF is SV’s first biotech fund. It will aim to turn scientific breakthroughs into biotech companies producing high impact precision medicine drugs for poorly treated diseases.
So far the fund has invested in UK-based Alchemab, which develops antibody therapies for diseases including cancers, infectious diseases, and neurodegenerative conditions.
