Essling Capital continues its unlisted co-investment programme with the launch of its third vintage fund, Essling Co-Invest 3 (ECI 3).
The launch of ECI 3 is taking place after completion under the previous fund, launched in 2018 for a total raised of EUR116 million, of an eighth and final investment in July – the acquisition of a minority stake in Funecap, the second largest company in the funeral services market in France, alongside management and Charterhouse.

Off the back of a hugely successful 2019, Le Col, the British brand renowned for delivering premium performance cycling apparel, has raised an additional GBP2.5 million from Puma Private Equity to further accelerate its growth plans in 2020.

CapitalRise, a property investment platform, has secured GBP1 million in backing from Revolt Ventures, the venture capital arm of real estate investment manager, Meyer Bergman.
This follows CapitalRise’s successful Seedrs crowdfunding raise earlier this year and brings the total funds raised to GBP3.3 million.

The Riverside Company (Riverside), a global private equity firm focused on the smaller end of the middle market, has sold surgical device tracking and workflow software provider, Censis Technologies (Censis).
Headquartered in Franklin, Tennessee, Censis provides SaaS-based surgical instrument tracking and workflow solutions for sterile processing departments (SPDs) of hospitals and ambulatory surgical centres.
Censis helps ensure the accuracy and procedural compliance of SPDs, including the critical responsibility of assembling instrument trays for surgical procedures, sterilising instruments and managing and maintaining inventory from purchase to retirement.

A new survey of senior private equity professionals reveals that only 23 per cent describe the due diligence that private equity firms carry out on cyber security issues of target companies as ‘good’ or ‘excellent’.
The research, which was commissioned by Mactavish, the leading expert on commercial insurance placement and disputes, reveals that 30 per cent of the private equity professionals interviewed describe the industry’s work here as ‘average’, and 27 per cent them said it was ‘poor’ or ‘terrible.’
However, the findings suggest future potential improvements in this area, as 83 per cent of respondents expect private equity firms
