Manchester-headquartered Miss Group has secured a GBP13m follow-on investment from BGF to support its international acquisition strategy.  Founded in 2014, Miss Group is an international web hosting business that offers a range of services to the SME market, such as web hosting, domain registration, VPS and dedicated servers.  Following BGF’s initial investment in August 2018, Miss Group acquired Hemsida24 and Heymo to grow its reach across Scandinavia. The deal saw the company add 14,000 customers and EUR1 million EBITDA to the business. The acquisition of FS Data in March 2019 of FS Data brought 30,000 more customers to the business
Arlington Capital Partners (Arlington), a Washington, DC-based private equity firm, has completed a majority growth investment in Riverpoint Medical (Riverpoint.) The investment in Riverpoint marks the first deal out of Arlington’s USD1.7 billion Fund V, which closed recently. Headquartered in Portland, Oregon, Riverpoint Medical is a developer, designer, and manufacturer of medical devices focused on advanced bio-medical textile technologies. The company specialises in the development of bioabsorbable sutures, high strength medical fibre and suture-based implantable devices. Investment firm Battery Ventures has launched a new index to track the stock performance of prominent consumer-marketplace companies, businesses that are becoming more and more embedded into the daily lives of consumers, and, increasingly, driving a new wave of initial-public stock offerings. The Battery Marketplace Index includes 39 companies that serve as online hubs where buyers and sellers meet. They operate in sectors ranging from ride sharing (Uber, Lyft), to food delivery (Grubhub, Delivery Hero), to travel and lodging (Expedia, TripAdvisor and Ctrip) to e-commerce (Wayfair*, eBay and Mercado Libre). The United States dominates the PE marketplace when it comes to size of AUM size. It is estimated that the top 300 global PE managers manage USD1.5 trillion in assets, of which US-based managers account for USD1 trillion; this compares to USD177 billion among UK-based managers. 
WeGift, a digital rewards platform, has secured GBP4 million in Series A funding, led by Fred Destin at Stride.vc, who also joins the Board of Directors, and other high-profile investors including SAP.iO fund and Unilever Ventures.  WeGift has also announced new angel investors including James Hind, founder of Carwow and Eamon Jubbawy at Onfido.    WeGift says the investment round will help it deliver on its vision of creating the world’s first real-time infrastructure for digital rewards and incentives. The funds will be used to further scale WeGift’s operations, as well as to support the company’s expansion to the US, and for further investment in its technology platform.   WeGift
eSmart Systems, a Norwegian provider of AI-based analytics for infrastructure inspection and asset health monitoring, has completed a capital raise of USD 34.4 million.  Energy Impact Partners (EIP), the US utility-backed investment fund, and innogy Ventures have joined the investment round initially closed by Equinor Energy Ventures, Nysnø Climate Investments, and Kongsberg Digital which closed in December 2018. Earth Capital (EC), a global investment group focused on sustainable and impact investments, has made a successful early exit of Inval Green Energy (IGE) from the European portfolio of the Nobel Sustainability Fund (NSF). IGE, which is managed by sub-manager Barcelona-based SI Capital (SiC), part of the Earth Capital Holdings group, represents 17 per cent of the European portfolio of the NSF.   IGE is a 94 MW Pomerania wind farm project based in Poland with EUR127 million capex. Arlington Capital Partners a US private equity investment firm focused on government-regulated sectors, has held the final close of its latest fund, Arlington Capital Partners V with total capital commitments of approximately USD1.7 billion – hitting the Fund’s hard cap.  The fundraise, which was significantly oversubscribed, successfully reached its final closing in three months from its launch. Gresham House Renewable Energy VCT 1 and Gresham House Renewable Energy VCT 2 have exited their nvestments in ChargePoint Services Ltd (CPS) via a trade sale to Engie as part of the French utility’s buyout of 100 per cent of CPS.  The exit will generate a total rate of return to shareholders of 11.9 per cent per year based on the initial purchase consideration, rising to 13.2 per cent per year if all future tranches of the purchase consideration, linked to CPS’ future performance, are received.
