LDC-backed Mitrefinch, one of the UK’s leading developers of human capital management (HCM) software, has recorded double-digit revenue growth following a year of expansion at home and overseas. The York-headquartered business reported a 12 per cent growth in revenue to GBP16.3million (2017: GBP14.6million) in the year to November 2018, while EBITDA grew 22 per cent to GBP5million over the same period (2017: GBP4.1million).   Mitrefinch’s success was bolstered by a year of overseas expansion, with the business now operating across the UK, US, Australia and Canada, and with international sales accounting for 26 per cent of turnover.   On home

Private capital is growing in significance as a source of funds for private equity funds, new research carried out by Guernsey Finance has revealed. The PE industry – particularly smaller, boutique and specialist managers – are taking advantage of the spectacular growth of private capital over the decade since the global financial crisis.   The research project, carried out at this year’s SuperReturn conference in Berlin, showed that managers are increasingly being viewed as a source of deal flow as much as for their investment management expertise. TPG, a global alternative asset firm, is to make a non-controlling strategic investment in Harlem Capital Partners (HCP), an early-stage venture capital firm.  In connection with its investment in the company, TPG will commit capital to HCP Fund I. Manchester digital agency RUN2 has received a GBP500,000 investment  from  >_fund:tmt, a dedicated fund for fast-growing tech and media companies, which will be used to expand and implement a new AI platform for online client hyper-personalisation and recommendation engines.
