Edison Partners, the growth equity investment firm, has led a USD4 million growth round in Northpass, a New Jersey-based enterprise learning solution for driving business performance.
The capital will be used to accelerate Northpass’ go-to-market execution and product innovation to transform the USD5 billion learning management system (LMS) category.
Northpass experienced significant momentum in 2018 as it grew its customer base to more than 200 logos including notable disruptor brands such as Airbnb, Lyft, Uber, Shopify and Square. Northpass achieved 100 percent revenue growth for the year and anticipates the same 2x growth trajectory for 2019.

Alpha Private Equity Fund 7 (APEF 7) is to acquire Laminam from Stefani family and Alberto Selmi. The transaction includes the following companies: Laminam SpA, Laminam Rus, Laminam USA Inc, Laminam China, Laminam Service.
The completion of the transaction, which is subject to the normal antitrust approvals, is expected before the end of June. Alberto Selmi will continue to lead Laminam, together with the management team, and will reinvest his proceeds and further increase his stake in the company.

Värde Partners has completed a strategic GBP60 million equity investment in UK-based specialist bank Masthaven, having previously announced the deal in September 2018.
The completion of the investment will enable the bank to deliver against its strategic ambition to become one of the leading specialist banks in UK residential and SME markets.
The GBP60 million equity investment from Värde Partners, along with the bank’s existing capital base, will enable Masthaven to significantly increase lending to consumers and SMEs over the next three to five years as well as provide innovative deposit solutions to Masthaven’s customers.

Saleswhale, an AI-powered sales assistant for mid-market and large enterprises, has closed a USD5.3 million Series A funding round, led by Monk’s Hill Ventures.
The company, based in Singapore, plans to use the investment to expand its teams in engineering, customer success, and sales & marketing. The investment will also extend the Saleswhale offering to meet growing demands from enterprise customers globally, including features such as Salesforce integration and enterprise work flows.

The new private equity fund of Kempen Capital Management (Kempen), the Kempen European Private Equity Fund, is now for sale in the United Kingdom. The fund, which was launched in the Netherlands in January 2019, has raised over EUR76 million in the first closing.

Neuberger Berman has held the final close of NB Private Debt Fund III at USD1.7 billion, surpassing its target of USD1.5 billion.
The Fund, which launched in October 2017, is the successor to NB Private Debt Fund II, which had commitments of USD750 million. The Fund seeks to invest in first lien, unitranche, and second lien loans of US middle-market companies backed by private equity firms.

Digital piracy specialist MUSO has raised GBP3.5 million in an extension to its GBP2.5 million 2017 Series A funding round with Harwell Capital.
The investment will be used to expand the company’s sales and marketing and increase its foothold in the digital media, gaming and live broadcast sectors.

Global advisory firm GCA Altium has continued to expand its international presence across Europe and Asia in FY18 as total revenues have reached GBP181 million.
Revenues for the firm increased 35 per cent in comparison to FY17 and have increased threefold in the last five years. Net income also increased by 115 per cent compared to the previous year. Over the course of 2018, the firm closed 145 deals globally – up 30 per cent on the prior year. Over a third of these transactions were cross-border, as a result of GCA’s growing international network.

Middle East alternative asset management firm Gulf Capital has successfully closed a new long-term AED500 million syndicated revolving credit facility from its existing lenders.
