Entrepreneurial Equity Partners (e2p), a Chicago-based private equity firm focused on the food and consumer packaged goods industries, and the Private Equity business of Mubadala Capital, an Abu Dhabi-based asset management subsidiary of Mubadala Investment Company, have completed an investment in Mercer Foods (Mercer) and Thrive Foods (Thrive).
DigiCert, Inc, a provider of TLS/SSL, IoT and other PKI solutions, backed by Clearlake Capital Group LP (Clearlake), Crosspoint Capital, and TA Associates, has acquired Internet of Things (IoT) cybersecurity provider Mocana.
The combination of DigiCert and Mocana technologies provides IoT manufacturers and operators with a comprehensive platform for managing security across the full IoT device lifecycle. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Having exceeded its initial fundraising target by 150 per cent in just four weeks 12 months ago, UK-based food delivery marketplace, Cook My Grub, is seeking to raise GBP1.5 million through a combination of VC, high net worth individuals, private and angel investors.
After initial funds were used to invest in technology and build the sales, marketing and operations teams, Cook My Grub saw customer growth of over 250 per cent last year. In 2022, the UK’s home-cooked marketplace that offers authentic, healthy cuisines that cannot be found on the high street, is aiming for a 10-fold increase in customers.
Susquehanna Private Capital (SPC), a middle market private equity firm, has invested in Soccer Shots, a founder owned and operated youth soccer franchisor which provides quality and engaging training programs in partnership with childcare centres, schools, and other public locations.
Terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.
The transaction marks SPC’s fourth franchise services platform since October 2020 and fourth platform investment in the last six months.

Godspeed Capital Management (Godspeed Capital), a lower middle-market Defense & Government services, solutions, and technology focused private equity firm, has acquired Exceptional Software Strategies (ESS), a provider of information technology solutions to mission-oriented Federal agencies, including members of the Intelligence Community and Department of Defense agencies.
The financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.

Mercer Global Advisors, a full-service wealth management firm and national Registered Investment Adviser (RIA) backed by private equity firms Genstar and Oak Hill Capital, has acquired Wrenn Financial Strategies, a wealth management firm located in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Wrenn serves over 150 clients with assets under management (AUM) of approximately USD238 million.
Wrenn is focused on providing leading financial planning and investment management services to its clients using an ensemble team approach among Wrenn’s three CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professionals and other team members.
ECI Partners, a growth-focused mid-market private equity firm, had a strong 2021, completing seven exits with a combined value of GBP2.5 billion.
Together, these exits averaged a return of 3.5x, and include the sale of CPOMS, Content+Cloud and the IPO of tech unicorn Auction Technology Group (ATG). ATG was the best performing IPO in London during 2021 (above GBP50 million market cap) and is now a FTSE 250 constituent.
