Zeta Markets (Zeta), a decentralised finance (DeFi) futures and options exchange built on Solana, has completed a USD8.5 million strategic funding round led by Jump Capital. The round, conducted via private token sale, had participation from Race Capital, Electric Capital, DACM, Airtree Ventures, Amber Group, Wintermute, Sino Global Capital, Genesis Block Ventures, QCP Capital, Alameda Research, Solana Capital, MGNR, 3kVC, Orthogonal Trading, LedgerPrime, and SkyVision Capital. This raise comes off the back of Zeta Market’s grand prize win in the Solana Summer hackathon which featured over 13,000 participants worldwide.
A new global study commissioned by Intertrust Group reveals the extent to which large cap private capital managers are leaving smaller firms behind in the race to invest in transformative technologies such as machine learning, robotics, big data and blockchain to gain a competitive edge.  The study, The Future of Fund Technology, based on interviews with 300 private capital fund senior decision-makers in the UK, Europe, North America, and Asia, found that 87 per cent of large cap managers with over USD3 billion of AUM plan to increase their tech spend over the next five years, of which 17 per
Crosspoint Capital Partners (Crosspoint Capital), a private equity firm focused on the cybersecurity, privacy and infrastructure software markets, has led a USD50 million Series C investment in Afero, a provider of turnkey Internet of Things (IoT) Platform as a Service (Paas) solutions that bring secure connectivity to IoT devices. The Home Depot also participated in the investment round, terms of which have not been disclosed.  
Orange has taken another step forward in its Net Zero Carbon by 2040 environmental strategy by creating Orange Nature, an innovative EUR50 million carbon fund, with returns in high-quality carbon credits only. Launched with the asset management company Mirova (Natixis Investment Managers), the Orange Nature fund will directly or indirectly invest in various carbon sequestration projects around the world: afforestation, reforestation, and restoration of natural ecosystems (mangroves or agroforestry projects). Specific attention will be paid to the economic and social development of the regions and populations affected by the projects as well as the positive impacts they have on biodiversity.
Exegy Incorporated, a provider of market data and trading infrastructure to the financial services industry, and a portfolio company of Marlin Equity Partners, has added two experienced industry professionals to its global sales organisation. Devry Ross joins Exegy as Global Head of Partners, while Jared Singer has joined the firm as Head of Sales – Americas. Both Ross and Singer will report to Craig Schachter, Chief Revenue Officer for Exegy.  
US Bank subsidiary, US Bancorp Asset Management, has closed on the acquisition of PFM Asset Management (PFMAM) originally announced on 8 July. PFM Asset Management will continue to operate as a separate registered investment advisor. As part of the acquisition, more than 250 PFM Asset Management employees have joined US Bank.

Alternative investment firm Angelo Gordon has appointed Allison Binns, former Executive Director for Global Sustainability Research at Morgan Stanley, as Head of Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) and Sustainable Investing Strategies.  In this new role, Binns will lead and drive a best-in-class, strategic approach to ESG integration and opportunity across Angelo Gordon’s global platform. Binns will report to Josh Baumgarten and Adam Schwartz, Angelo Gordon’s co-Chief Executive Officers.
