Private investment firm GI Partners is to sell Generate Life Sciences (Generate), a life sciences platform that provides reproductive and newborn stem cell (umbilical cord blood and tissue) services, to CooperCompanies (NYSE:COO).
Generate Life Sciences was created by GI Partners in 2018 as the combination of California Cryobank Life Sciences, an industry-leading donor sperm and egg bank, and Cord Blood Registry, a leading provider of newborn stem cell services. The combined business became a key player in three highly complementary end-markets.

Stone-Goff Partners has exited its investment in The Channel Company (TCC). TCC was acquired by investment funds managed by EagleTree Capital, a middle-market private equity firm.
The Channel Company drives sales for global technology providers through integrated marketing and sales solutions that identify, acquire, and retain channel sales partners and end-user customers. TCC’s integrated suite of solutions includes performance and content marketing, peer-to-peer engagement, consulting, brand marketing, sales enablement, and data analytics. TCC also completed a key acquisition in 2020, acquiring Audienz, a consulting and services business focused on major Cloud players – Microsoft, AWS, and Google.

StepStone Group, a private markets investment firm focused on providing customised investment solutions and advisory and data services, has closed the StepStone Tactical Growth Fund III (STGF III), raising more than USD690 million of commitments.
Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson LLP served as legal advisors for the formation of the fund.
The fund includes limited partners from around the world, including, public and corporate pension plans, insurance companies, endowments and foundations, family offices, high net worth individuals, and financial services and advisory firms. General Atlantic, a global growth equity firm, has completed the final close of its sixth flagship fund, GA 2021, at USD7.8 billion, above its initial target of USD5 billion. The fund received commitments from new and existing capital partners, including family offices, endowments, foundations and institutional investors around the world.
The firm, which pioneered the growth equity asset class more than four decades ago, now has USD23.8 billion in committed capital and over USD78 billion in assets under management. DWS has held the final close of its inaugural Private Equity Solutions (PES) fund achieving USD550 million, including discretionary co-investment vehicles, which is in excess of its target and hard-cap of USD500 million and USD525 million respectively.
Demonstrating significant demand for its mid-life secondaries strategy, the inaugural fund closed with a global investor base consisting of state pension plans, insurance companies, corporate institutional investors and family offices in North America, Europe and the Middle East. The fund has made a total of 12 investments, which have exhibited positive performance to date.
