Founders Factory is a global venture studio and accelerator that was co-founded by Brent Hoberman and Henry Lane Fox in 2015. Since its inception, over 200 businesses have been created and accelerated through the Founders Factory and have gone on to raise more than GBP400 million in funding.

African Capital Alliance (ACA) has acquired a stake in Africa’s leading multi-brand QSR group, Food Concepts Plc (Food Concepts), from pan-African returns and impact-driven private equity firm DPI.
The deal will see the sale of 31 per cent of Food Concepts by DPI, a pan-African returns and impact-driven private equity firm with a strong track record of investing across the continent and USD2 billion AUM, to ACA. ACA is a pan-African alternative investment firm focused on managing investments across sub-Saharan Africa, with USD1.2 billion AUM. DPI will retain ownership of a majority stake in the Company.

The European Investment Fund (EIF) and the Fonds national d’amorçage 2 (the French Seed Fund 2) managed on behalf of the French State by Bpifrance, participated in the fund, along with corporate ventures including Boehringer Ingelheim Venture Fund, Pierre Fabre and a major Asian pharmaceutical company, family offices and AFB’s management.

After delivering more than 100,000 shipments in Germany, constructiontech startup Schüttflix has raised USD50 million of additional capital and is preparing to enter the Austrian, Polish and Czech markets in 2022.
The recently completed Series A financing round was led by European venture capital investor Draper Esprit. Also boosting their investments in this round are the founding team surrounding co-founding investor Thomas Hagedorn and CEO Christian Hülsewig, as well as HV Capital, Speedinvest and STRABAG.

O’Melveny has advised DL Chemical Co, a subsidiary of DL Holdings Co (formerly Daelim Industrial Co), on its merger agreement to acquire 100 per cent of Kraton Corporation (NYSE: KRA), a global sustainable producer of specialty polymers and high-value bio-based products, in an all-cash transaction with an equity value of approximately USD1.6 billion.
The company’s enterprise value was USD2.5 billion.
The agreement was announced on 27 September, 2021 and is subject to certain customary closing conditions, including the receipt of stockholder and regulatory approvals.
