Warburg Pincus, a global private equity firm focused on growth investing, has formed Aquila Air Capital, a specialty finance platform focused on commercial aerospace, in partnership with aerospace industry veteran Al Wood and investment firm Kepler Hill Capital.

The deal follows Elaghmore’s acquisition of the fresh fruit business in January 2021, and will enable the business to invest in new equipment and ongoing product development.

Private equity-backed and family-owned businesses are significantly behind listed companies in gender diversity at board level, with women making up just 13 per cent and 10 per cent of boards respectively at these businesses versus 34 per cent at FTSE 350 companies, says New Street Consulting Group, the leadership and people solutions consultancy.

BTIG has appointed Yun Zhong PhD as a publishing analyst in the firm’s Healthcare Equity Research team.
