Downing Ventures has appointed Warren Rogers as a Partner. Prior to joining Downing Ventures, Rogers was a Ventures Partner at Airbus, where he led investments in various sectors related to aerospace, defence, and space technology. Rogers brings much of this experience to the Downing Ventures team, with his new role focusing on early-stage deep tech companies in quantum, cyber, enterprise, and materials.
In addition to his experience working with entrepreneurs, Rogers has also been an entrepreneur himself, having founded and successfully exited trading tech business, RHI Group, and also founding DeepWell Ventures, an early stage deep technology investor based in Austin, Texas,
Andera Partners has completed the single closing of its ActoMezz IV sponsorless mezzanine fund, exceeding its initial hard cap of EUR500 million. This new fund, raised in record time despite the Covid-19 crisis, is the largest completed to date by Andera Partners and 60 per cent bigger than the previous ActoMezz vehicle, which also saw a single closing above its initial hard cap in July 2017, at EUR315 million.

Alternative Investment Fund Manager, Innvotec Limited (Innvotec), has launched a Female Ventures Fund (FVF) to invest exclusively in UK female founded or co-founded enterprises. Innvotec is also aiming to encourage more women to invest in start-ups and early stage businesses.
Less than 1 per cent of VC investment goes to all-female founded enterprises. The FVF aims to tackle this funding gap by focussing on carefully selected, early-stage businesses founded and co-founded by women. Following the completion of a voluntary tender offer period, Valorous Asia Holdings, an entity owned by KKR investment funds, has accepted all of the 427,041,291 common shares of First Gen Corporation that were tendered by shareholders at the close of the tender offer, representing approximately 11.9 per cent of First Gen’s outstanding common shares.The Offeror intends to acquire all of these tendered common shares at a price of (USD0.45) per common share on 1 July, 2020, the cross date previously set out in the Offeror’s tender documents, representing a total investment value of (USD192.2 million).
