Ara Partners, a private equity firm specialising in industrial decarbonisation investments, has closed its debut fund, Ara Fund I, with approximately USD400 million in capital commitments. Ara Partners was co-founded by veteran investors Charles Cherington and Troy Thacker.
The Fund will invest in companies in North America and Europe that are poised to accelerate the decarbonisation of the industrial economy. The Fund was backed by a diverse group of institutional investors in North America, Europe and Asia, including public pensions, sovereign wealth funds, endowments, foundations and family offices.

Metropolitan Partners Group Management, a direct-lending fund manager that provides senior-secured, short-term capital to small and mid-sized businesses in the US, completed the final closing of its sixth and largest direct lending fund, Metropolitan Partners Fund VI, in the first quarter of 2020, with total fund commitments of USD240 million.
