Y Platform, a video channel network in China founded by Israel’s Gal-Or family and Chinese investors, has completed a USD3.5 million A round investment. This brings to USD5 million the amount raised by the company since it was established. The round was led by Weibo, the Chinese equivalent of Twitter, with nearly 500 million users, and with the participation of Kunlun Wanwei Technology, one of China’s largest gaming companies. The funds raised will be used to upgrade the network’s content, expand e-commerce activity and enter markets outside of China.

Over the last decade, business peer-to-peer lending, also known as crowdlending, has become an appealing alternative financial source for many European companies. Although lending platforms are not immune to the disruption caused by the pandemic, the latest data show that P2P investments may be unrelated to the stock market slides caused by the coronavirus outbreak.
The UK largest peer-to-peer lender Funding Circle has reported a significant increase in searches for business loans since the start of coronavirus pandemic, and a huge number of European P2P investors continue to invest without making changes to their portfolios.

Foresight Group (Foresight) and Belltown Power Limited (Belltown) have formed a joint venture (JV) to develop Belltown’s pipeline of greenfield onshore wind energy projects across the UK under the existing Belltown brand.The JV aims to deliver more than 300MW of incremental clean electricity capacity to support the UK’s move to a net-zero power system. The pipeline is focused on sites with excellent potential for wind development, predominantly in Scotland and Wales, and will be developed on a merchant-only, PPA or CfD supported basis.

New data reveals that 33 per cent of UK businesses say they lack the technology infrastructure to manage long-term remote working during the Covid-19 crisis.The poll, commissioned by Leonne International, a global private equity provider, was conducted by independent survey company Censuswide, which questioned 200 senior business decision-makers from large and medium sized companies on the business impact of the Covid-19 crisis. The polling was conducted between Wednesday, 18 March and Thursday, 19 March after the Chancellor’s announcement of a GBP330 billiopnn package to support businesses cope with the outbreak.

Global asset manager PineBridge Investments is opening a new office in Stockholm, and has appointed Viggo Johansen as head of Nordics.
The new Stockholm office adds to PineBridge’s presence in Europe, alongside its offices in the UK, Germany, Switzerland and Ireland. The firm provides private equity and private capital opportunities through commingled funds and separately managed accounts.
Johansen will be responsible for PineBridge’s sales and distribution strategy in the region, with a focus on expanding the firm’s share of the institutional investment market. He will play a key role in establishing relationships with clients and strategic partners across the Nordics
Antwerp-based Down2Earth Capital (D2E) has acquired Gimv’s majority shareholding in Grandeco, with both Gimv and the Grandeco management team maintaining an investment in the business.
By broadening its investor group, Grandeco is seeking to strengthen its position within the decorative wallpaper area, including through potential strategic acquisitions, according to the company.
“Grandeco is a market performer in a highly fragmented industry, the company has achieved above-average growth and profitability in recent years,” said Alain Keppens, partner at Down2Earth Capital.
“In addition to its strong reputation in analogue printing, the company has a clear advantage in the area of digital printing,” he added.
