Hamilton Lane, a private markets asset management firm, has announced new leadership roles in its Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) investment business.Jim Strang, a Managing Director who currently leads EMEA and oversees the firm’s London office, will assume the newly-created role of Chairman EMEA. In addition, Richard Hope, who is a Managing Director on the firm’s secondary and co-investment teams, will succeed Strang in both positions. The appointments take effect immediately.

Hg, a specialist private equity investor focused on software and service businesses, has finalised an agreement for an investment in Intelerad Medical Systems (Intelerad), a global provider of medical imaging software and enterprise workflow solutions. The terms of the transaction, which is expected to close in the first quarter of 2020, following satisfaction of customary regulatory approvals, have not been disclosed.

HLD Europe has entered into exclusive negotiations with IK Investment Partners (IK), a Pan-European private equity firm to become the majority shareholder of Exxelia Group, a specialist in the manufacturing of high reliability passive components and electromechanical systems. Exxelia’s management will reinvest alongside HLD Europe.
The completion of the transaction is subject to the consultation of employee representative bodies and the approval of the competition authorities as well as the French and American administrations.
