The Manchester and Tokyo teams of GCA have advised Japanese listed manufacturer Sumitomo Heavy Industries (SHI), a manufacturer and distributor of power transmission and control equipment, on the GBP100 million acquisition of Invertek Drives. SHI’s current strategy aims to strengthen and expand its business by integrating new technologies in the areas of electric motors and frequency drives and achieving global growth in areas such as robotics and positioning, transportation and logistics and food and beverages. As part of this strategy, the EUR172 million acquisition of Lafert, an Italian motor manufacturer, in 2018 signalled SHI’s portfolio and global market reach business
Apex Service Partners (Apex), a platform of HVAC, plumbing and electrical services, has partnered with Southern Air Heating and Cooling (Southern Air), a residential HVAC services company. Southern Air, headquartered in Ball, LA, with locations across Louisiana and Mississippi, will join Florida businesses Best Home Services and Frank Gay Services as a member of the Apex platform. Southern Air will continue to be operated independently by the founding Preuett family under its current brand names. YAD Capital is be bringing its alternative credit portfolio to Fusion Foundation’s cryptofinance ecosystem. Private equity firm Warburg Pincus has sold inexio, a provider of fibre-optic broadband networks in Germany, to EQT Infrastructure.  Co-shareholders Deutsche Beteiligungs AG and other minority investors are selling their stakes alongside Warburg Pincus.   Inexio was founded by David Zimmer in 2007 and has invested heavily in fibre-optic infrastructure in rural and small-town communities in Germany, predominantly in the South and South West. Today, the Company provides high-speed internet access to more than 110,000 customers and 6,000 businesses. Inexio’s unique and scalable network, consisting of more than 10,000 km of fibre-optic infrastructure, provides a strong platform for continued growth.
