Earth Capital has successfully exited the UK Energy Efficiency Investments Fund (UKEEI) through the sale of the Fund’s assets via a GBP100 million IPO.
Earth Capital’s Nobel Sustainability Fund was invested in UKEEI alongside the Green Investment Bank, Earth Capital investee SDCL EEco (SDCL), the European Investment Bank and other institutional LPs. Earth Capital’s impact investing focus includes Energy Efficiency as a key sector, and is strongly aligned with SDCL’s investment strategy.
Gordon Power and Jim Totty worked with the SDCL team on transaction and investment management and sat on the investment committee of the Fund, with Gordon as
SYZ Capital has taken a controlling stake in SINWA, a Singapore-based ships’ chandler supplying essential goods to ships and their crews.
Having been listed on the Singapore Stock Exchange as Sinwa Limited since 2003, this transaction will see SINWA become a private company again.
The news follows several turbulent years for the wider shipping industry that SINWA has weathered very well. Ropes & Gray has advised private equity firm TSG Consumer Partners on its eighth fund, TSG8, which held a final closing on 4 February with USD4 billion of limited partner capital commitments. As with its prior fund, TSG8 was substantially oversubscribed.
The fund will primarily focus on high-growth consumer companies through equity investments between USD200 million and USD800 million.

O’Melveny has represented Augury, an AI-based machine health solution provider with offices in Haifa, Israel and New York, on its acquisition of Alluvium, a startup that provides real-time machine insights to support safe, stable, and efficient industrial operations.
With the acquisition, Augury becomes the first industrial analytics company to provide both mechanical and operational insights on a single platform. The deal also joins Alluvium’s team with Augury’s, boosting innovation.

Pan-African private equity firm Development Partners International (DPI) has invested USD35 million from the African Development Partners II fund (ADP II) into International Facilities Services (IFS), a facilities management specialist in Africa.

Founded in 1986 and based in Birmingham, sk:n is the UK’s largest provider of non-surgical dermatological treatments – such as Botox, hair transplants and laser hair removal – with 51 clinics across the country.

The value of private equity business in Guernsey reached its highest-ever level at the end of September 2018, according to the latest fund statistics from the Guernsey Financial Services Commission.
The island’s regulator confirmed that the net asset value of private equity funds in the island passed GBP120 billion for the first time in Q3 2018.
