Tim Clipstone has joined the Guernsey office of Ogier as a partner in its top-tier investment fund team.
Clipstone (pictured), has a strong reputation for his work with offshore investment funds, specialising in investment fund structuring, equity fundraising, mergers and acquisitions and group reorganisations.
Ogier’s Guernsey team were recently Guernsey legal counsel to the launch of a GBP202 million music IPO fund, and are ranked in the top tier by IFLR.
This year Ogier has been named Offshore Law Firm of the Year by Chambers Europe and International Law Firm of the Year at the Legal Week
OpenFin, an operating system for the financial industry, has appointed Stephen Wood as Global Head of Enterprise Deployment.
Wood joins from Deutsche Bank, where he served as Head of Market Data, Risk and Compliance, from 2012-2015, and Global Head of Market Data Services, from 2015-2018, with responsibilities including managing the deployment of vendor products. Wood brings his unique insights to OpenFin, where he will be responsible for driving the firm’s enterprise deployment strategy. He will be working closely with the growing number of banks, asset managers and hedge funds now running their financial desktop applications on OpenFin.

A new survey of institutional asset managers, consultants and investors confirms compliance with the Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS) is on the rise, with 84 per cent of asset managers responding saying their firms are GIPS compliant.

Drawing on decades of experience, Matthew Shaw (pictured) and Philipp Kallerhoff are founders of Protos Asset Management, a Swiss based cryptocurrency asset manager that brings the investing concepts of value, momentum and volatility to the crypto world in the form of a fully traditionally regulated Cayman Island based fund. Protos was set up in 2017 as the pair came out of a crypto investment business in Canada.
