London Collective Investment Vehicle (LCIV) has appointed Kristina Ingate as Chief of Staff, with responsibility for the company secretariat, governance and strategic planning. Aviva Investors, the global asset management business of Aviva, has acquired a 49 per cent interest in a portfolio of UK onshore wind farms from Fred. Olsen Renewables Limited in one of the largest single acquisitions made by its infrastructure platform to date. The portfolio includes two operational assets: Crystal Rig III Limited (six turbines, 13.8MW) and Brockloch Rig Windfarm Limited (30 turbines, 61.5MW). Both are located in Scotland.   Fred. Graphene technology development company Paragraf, a recent spin out from the University of Cambridge, has closed a GBP2.9 million seed round to support the development of its first major products. The round is led by Cambridge Enterprise, the commercialisation arm of the University of Cambridge, with the participation of Parkwalk Advisors, Amadeus Capital Partners, IQ Capital Partners and angel investors.   Paragraf focuses on the production of ‘two-dimensional’ materials, primarily graphene, and the development of electronic devices based on these materials. Private equity-backed IPOs are trading on average 43.9 per cent above their offer price compared to 26.6 per cent for non-private equity flotations, according to new research published by the BVCA in association with PwC. The report provides a historic analysis of private equity-backed IPOs in the UK between 1 January 2009 and 31 December 2017 and compares them with businesses that floated in the same period that were not backed by private equity.     It shows that the UK IPO market has been dominated by private equity since the financial crisis, reaching a peak in 2015 when private equity-backed
Investment firm Greenbriar Equity Group (Greenbriar) has sold Ryan Herco Flow Solutions (Ryan Herco) to SunSource Holdings (SunSource), a distributor of hydraulic and fluid control power products in the United States and Canada.  Terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.   Based in Burbank, California, Ryan Herco is a nationwide distributor of high-purity and corrosion-resistant fluid conveyance, measurement and control products used in mission-critical systems across a wide range of industrial applications. UK-based mid-market private equity investor LDC has backed the secondary buyout of Mandata, a developer of transport management software, in a GBP20 million deal. The deal also represents an exit for Synova Capital.   Headquartered in Northumberland, Mandata designs and develops software that allows road transport operators to manage workflow and data more effectively. Its transport management system integrates a suite of end-to-end products, including traffic planning and management, tracking, telematics, and invoicing. A company backed by private equity firm Permira is to acquire Cisco’s Service Provider Video Software Solutions (SPVSS) business. Following the close of the transaction, the Permira Funds will create a new, rebranded company focused on developing and delivering video solutions for the Pay-TV industry.   The new company will encompass a broad portfolio, including Cisco’s Infinite Video Platform, cloud digital video recording, video processing, video security, video middleware, and services groups.
