Specialist investment advisory firm Gravis Advisory has expanded the team focusing on the VT Gravis UK Infrastructure Income Fund and VT Gravis Clean Energy Fund, with hires from Columbia Threadneedle and Fidelity.
Nick Winder will take on the role of Sales Director. He has worked in the investment industry for 30 years, initially for 10 years with GT Asset Management as Sales Director-Discretionary Sales. For the past 20 years Winder has worked for Columbia Threadneedle, heading up Third Party Distribution, and was responsible for the UK advisory market as well as life company and platform distribution.

The GBP1.275 billion GLIL Infrastructure platform (GLIL) is looking to bring the benefits of its leading infrastructure capabilities to a wider range of investment partners, following strong growth in the three years since its launch.

Warren Equity Partners, a lower middle market private equity fund, closed its acquisition of the solid waste subsidiaries of Meridian Waste Solutions (MRDN).
The acquired entities which comprise MRDN’s integrated, non-hazardous solid waste services business, primarily operating in Missouri and Virginia, will maintain and operate under the name Meridian Waste post-closing.

Media intelligence specialist Meltwater has acquired Sysomos, a specialist in social analytics and engagement.
The addition of Sysomos to Meltwater enables organisations to analyse social media, news and other human-generated content in one platform.

PNC Bank has closed a USD33 million of senior secured credit facility for Motley Services (Motley), a portfolio company of Irving, Texas-based District 5 Investments.
Headquartered in Odessa, TX, Motley will use the funds for capital expenditures and ongoing working capital needs. PNC Bank served as administrative agent. Treasury management products and services also were included in this transaction.

Mid-market private equity investor LDC has backed the GBP22.5 million management buyout (MBO) of Precision Micro Limited, a European-based photo-chemical etching company, from global aerospace, defence and energy group Meggitt PLC.
As part of the deal, LDC, the private equity arm of Lloyds Banking Group, has invested GBP13 million of equity for a significant stake in the company, supporting a management team led by current Managing Director Ian McMurray.
