Katey Bogue has joined eVestment, a global leader in institutional investor data and analytics, as Head of Private Markets. She will be responsible for leading the growth and development of eVestment’s private markets solutions.

The market for private equity continues to ride a wave of success with brisk demand from investors, together with rising market valuations in respect of company takeovers securing another excellent year for the industry in 2017.

The Duncan & Todd Group, a Scottish optical provider, has acquired Peebles-based Dempster Opticians as part of its national rollout of optician and hearing care services.
The deal, which follows a GBP15 million investment from private equity firm LDC at the end of March 2018, will strengthen Duncan & Todd’s presence in the Central Belt. It will also enable it to roll out its new audiology service, ensuring local communities have access to high-quality hearing care throughout Scotland.

Zilingo has raised USD54 million in a Series C funding round taking total funding raised by the company to USD82 million. The round was led by Sofina, Burda Principal Investments and Sequoia Capital India. Amadeus Capital too joins as a new investor.
All existing investors participated in the round including American billionaire Tim Draper, SIG, Venturra, Beenext, Manik Arora along with others. This round comes close on the heels of Zilingo’s USD17 million Series B raised 5 months ago.

Funds advised by Triton have successfully completed the acquisition of Chevron Traffic Management (Chevron TM), a UK-based Work Zone Safety Services provider. The company has been acquired from Portchester Equity Limited, a UK private equity firm for an undisclosed sum.
Following the acquisitions of Ramudden in Sweden and AVS in Germany, in December 2017 and January 2018, Chevron TM is Triton’s third acquisition within the broader European market for Work Zone Safety Services.

Palm Beach Capital Fund IV, through one of its investment entities, has invested in Mears Transportation (Mears).
Financial terms of the deal, which saw Palm Beach Capital partner with TriArtisan Capital Advisors, have not been disclosed.

Michael Doppelt has rejoined middle-market private equity firm Irving Place Capital (IPC) as a Partner and Head of Fundraising and LP Relations.
Doppelt’s new role at IPC will focus on maintaining strong connections with current Limited Partners while expanding the firm’s relationships to include new institutional investors.

Renowned AI commentator, Nick Bostrom, is confirmed to speak at both Jersey Finance flagship fund and private client conferences in London this April.

Strategic Partners Fund Solutions (Strategic Partners), Blackstone’s (NYSE:BX) dedicated secondary and fund solutions business, has held the final closing at the hard cap of USD1.75 billion for Strategic Partners Real Assets II (S PRA II), its second global infrastructure-focused secondary fund.
