Ropes & Gray has advised Ensono, a hybrid IT services provider based in the US and Europe, on its USD405 million acquisition of a hosted data centre services business from Wipro Limited. As a result of the deal, which was announced on 14 March 2018, Ensono – a portfolio company of Charlesbank Capital – has acquired eight data centres, employing over 900 people, significantly expanding its geographic footprint and global services capabilities.   The Ropes & Gray team was led by private equity partner Phil Sanderson, assisted by private equity lawyers Sonal Patel, Karla Agulgub and Folake Fani-Kayode, all based in London.
iM Square, a European investment and development platform dedicated to asset management, has secured a new financing commitment from Eurazeo, one of its founding shareholders. Eurazeo is committed to support iM Square’s investments over the next few years and is expected to become its reference shareholder. Other founding shareholder Le Groupe Dassault/La Maison will also participate.   This new commitment will enable iM Square to acquire three to six additional participations in entrepreneurial active asset managers with USD1 to 20 billion of AUM, high growth potential and complementary strategies, such as alternative management. PNC Business Credit, the senior secured lending division of PNC Bank, has made three appointments in its senior secured financing team in the Upper Midwest and Western regions.  Luke Tripodi has been appointed senior vice president and business development officer for PNC Business Credit. Based in Chicago, he has responsibilities for private equity and direct origination in the Minnesota and Chicago markets. Tripodi joins the organisation from BMO Harris Bank where he spent the last 10 years, most recently serving as vice president for BMO’s asset based lending group. Metro Bank has provided the highly prestigious Z Hotels with GBP18 million of funding. The capital will be used by the company to acquire a five-story office building just off Trafalgar Square in central London. Technology, media and communications global investment bank Drake Star Partners has appointed seasoned media and Internet investment banker Michael Metzger as a Partner in the firm’s Los Angeles office. Italian corporate and financial law firm Gattai, Minoli, Agostinelli & Partners has appointed Andrea Calvi as partner and head of the firm’s new financial regulatory practice.
