Technology company Gas Tag has secured a multi-million pound investment from private equity house Waterland. The deal, which values Gas Tag at well in excess of GBP20 million, will enable the business to continue to scale up rapidly both within the UK and internationally.
In return for the investment, Waterland will gain a minority stake and two of its senior team will join the board of the Liverpool-headquartered company.

Inflexion Private Equity has completed the buyout of Alston Elliot, a provider of premium data-driven graphics solutions for live sports broadcasts.
Alston Elliot was founded in 1992, initially to provide computerised graphics to the BBC for its coverage of test cricket and World Snooker events. Today the business employs more than 100 people across its offices in London, Johannesburg, New Delhi and Melbourne with clients including Sky, BT, ESPN, Fox, Star, SuperSport and the BBC.
The business is led by CEO Nick Baily, who has 27 years’ experience in the TV sports broadcast industry.

InMotion Ventures, Jaguar Land Rover’s venture capital arm, today announces the appointment of Lars Klawitter as Executive Director Strategic Business.
Klawitter joins the business this month, and he will lead the development of proprietary mobility services and their integration into Jaguar Land Rover products and services. He will also oversee strategic partnerships and alignment on government affairs and act as an internal consultant.

Ocorian – an independent provider of corporate, alternative investment and private client services – has completed the acquisition of MAS International (MAS), a Luxembourg and Mauritius based provider of fund administration and corporate services.
The acquisition represents a significant milestone in the development of Ocorian’s growing international portfolio of financial services, increasing its presence in Luxembourg to over 80 in-country experts, extending its capability in both regulated and unregulated funds and alternative investments, including AIFMD depositary services and providing a full range of corporate and domiciliation services, including director services and office rental facilities.

New research from Fidante Capital concludes that there are clear indications of an overhyped investment market in diversified listed private equity and high yield bonds, and that both asset classes are top contenders for a market correction in the near future.
Fidante Capital used three inputs to assess the investment hypes in diversified private equity and high yield bonds: Google searches, ETF funds flows and Closed End Fund Premiums. The three indicators have been combined into a single hype index which, together with a momentum index, forms the basis of the analysis.

Law firm Paul Hastings has appointed Eiji Kobayashi, a corporate M&A and compliance/investigations lawyer, as a partner in the firm’s Corporate practice in Tokyo, Japan.
Kobayashi joins from Norton Rose Fulbright where he was a partner and Head of Corporate, M&A and Securities for Japan. His corporate team totalling four other people is expected to join in the coming weeks.

Twelve Capital Group invested USD67.0 million in three bilateral Private Debt transactions in December 2017, with ACCC Holding Corporation (USD15.0 million), Federated National Holding Company (USD25.0 million) and a commercial US based insurer for small to medium sized businesses (USD27.0 million).
On 28 December 2017, Federated National Holding Company (Federated National Insurance) (FNHC) placed USD25.0 million Senior Unsecured Floating Rate Notes for a ten-year period. Twelve Capital Group acted as the sole investor in the note offering. The deal was arranged by Aon Securities Inc.
