Carey Olsen has played a central role in advising its existing client NYX Gaming Group Limited (NYX) in relation to its recommended takeover by Scientific Games Corporation (Scientific Games).
The deal valued NYX at approximately CAD775 million and represented a premium of approximately 112 per cent over the closing market price on the day before the deal was announced.

Sixpoint Partners, a global investment bank serving the middle market, has closed Blue Point Capital Partners IV (Fund IV), with USD700 million of capital commitments.
The Fund, which is the fourth investment vehicle for Blue Point Capital Partners (Blue Point), closed at its hard cap and well in excess of its USD600 million target after only three months of marketing. The Fund received commitments from a number of top-tier investors, including endowments, insurance companies, multi-manager funds, consultants, public pensions, corporate pensions and family offices.
Fund IV will continue the strategy of its predecessor fund, Blue Point Capital Partners III,
Gen Cap America, a private equity firm focused on lower middle-market buyouts, sold three of its portfolio companies in the final month of 2017: Thomas Pipe and Supply sold to Winsupply Inc; Air Transport Components (ATC) sold to Holder Family Investments and its partners; and International Systems of America (ISA) sold to Align Capital Partners.
Terms of the transactions have not been disclosed.

SpherePay, Singapore’s homegrown mobile payment app, has completed a fundraising round of over USD10 million.
With this latest round of funding and the affirmation of its strategic partnership with oBike since last December, SpherePay is well-placed to be the top three payment platforms in Southeast Asia. It currently serves over five million users and has more than 10,000 merchants in the region.
Last year, SpherePay announced its strategic partnership with oBike, Southeast Asia’s largest bike sharing operator. In a move that is set to deepen its partnership, SpherePay will integrate oBike’s operating system into its app. This means that
German technology venture capital investor Target Partners saw record portfolio fundraising results in 2017 with the startups financed by the firm raising more than EUR110 million in 25 financing rounds.
The total market cap of the Target Partners portfolio increased by EUR450 million and now exceeds EUR1 billion for the first time.

Tera Ventures is to raise a second seed fund, the Tera Ventures Fund II, which has a target size of EUR55 million.
The majority of the capital has been committed by some of the most prolific Estonian, pan-European, and global investors. The fund will invest in about 30 seed stage technology startups in Estonia, Scandinavia, and Central and Eastern Europe (CEE). The Tera team members have invested in early stage tech since 2009 and our relationships spread across highly lucrative regional tech hubs with untapped potential.

KKR has appointed Jacques Veyrat as a Senior Advisor to support the firm’s investment activities in France.
Veyrat is a senior French executive with deep experience across a range of different sectors. He currently manages his own company, Impala SAS, a diversified investment company with around EUR1bn net asset value, active in energy, manufacturing, consumer brands, and asset management. Before founding Impala in 2011, Veyrat served as Chairman and Chief Executive of the global merchant and commodity company Louis Dreyfus Group, and of telecoms company Neuf Cegetel before its acquisition by SFR.

Pemberton, a diversified asset manager backed by Legal & General Group, has provided senior term facilities to Cinesite Studios, an independent digital entertainment company.
Cinesite Studios, headquartered in London, produces award-winning feature animation and visual effects for the film and television industries. Productions it has worked on include Game of Thrones, Harry Potter, Skyfall, Thor, Fantastic Beasts & Where To Find Them, and The Commuter.
Pemberton will initially provide Cinesite with USD40 million for general funding and acquisition finance purposes. Pemberton will be supported by Barclays Corporate Banking, which will provide USD4 million of revolving credit facilities. Together, Pemberton
