Equistone Partners Europe has completed the sale of Concept Life Sciences to London Stock Exchange-listed productivity-enhancing instrumentation and controls company Spectris (LSE: SXS) for GBP163 million. Concept Life Sciences provides integrated drug discovery, development, analytical testing and environmental consulting services to an international customer base mainly in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, agrochemical and environmental sectors.   The Manchester-headquartered company was initially formed in July 2014 with backing from mid-market private equity firm Equistone Partners Europe. BNP Paribas Asset Management (BNPP AM) has appointed Michel Fryszman as Head of Structured Finance. He joined on 15 January and is based in Paris. Fryszman reports to Laurent Gueunier, Head of Real Assets, SME Lending & Structured Finance. Fryszman’s appointment is the latest in a series of additions to BNPP AM’s Private Debt & Real Assets investment group, which was established in 2017 and manages EUR7.7 billion, including more than EUR1 billion in European securitisation funds. Sentinel Capital Partners has held the simultaneous first and final closings of Sentinel Capital Partners VI at USD2.15 billion and Sentinel Junior Capital I at USD460 million. US public pension plans announced 121 new commitments to private equity in the fourth quarter, according to the latest data from eVestment. This is down from the 124 private equity commitments US public pensions announced in Q3, but still enough for private equity to be by far the No1 asset class these plans committed to in Q4.   Real assets came in at No2, with 76 new commitments in Q4, followed by private debt at No3 with 47 commitments. The Alternative Credit Council (ACC), the private credit affiliate of the Alternative Investment Management Association (AIMA), has stepped up its activities in Asia-Pacific for members operating private credit strategies in the region. As part of the expanded activity, a new APAC Committee of the ACC has been formed, co-chaired by global ACC Board members Justin Ferrier of BlackRock and Barry Lau of Adamas Asset Management.   The ACC is already active in the US and European markets, and the formation of the APAC group will consolidate the association’s position as the voice of the global private credit sector.   The

Noerr has advised private equity funds advised by Orlando Management AG on the sale of the Oetinger Aluminium Group to a financial investor, with a team led by private equity partner Georg Schneider.
