Audax Private Equity (Audax) has agreed to acquire Corsearch, a division of Wolters Kluwer NV.
Corsearch, headquartered in New York, NY, is a leading data-driven trademark and domain establishment and protection business. Corsearch has additional offices in Dallas, California, Brussels, London, Luxembourg, and Paris. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Corsearch provides trademark and domain management services to corporate legal departments and law firms through their brand establishment, brand protection, and domain management business lines.

Ipsum Group Limited (Ipsum) a utilities and infrastructure service provider backed by Aliter Capital (Aliter) has acquired Specialist Power Engineering Contracts Limited (SPEC), a Wakefield-based specialist High Voltage (HV) engineering business.
The value of the transaction has not been disclosed.
Ipsum, which is headquartered in Preston, was backed by Aliter in January 2017 and acts as the holding company for Aliter’s investments into the utilities and infrastructure support services sector. Align Capital Partners (ACP) has completed the majority recapitalisation of fire and life safety company International Systems of America (ISA) from Gen Cap America (Gen Cap).
This was ACP’s fifth platform company investment since the firm’s first fund closed in September 2016.

Tractel, a specialist provider of working-at-heights and safety products and solutions, is to acquire Scanclimber Oy, the Finnish-headquartered provider of mast climbing work platforms (MCWP), for an undisclosed fee.
Scanclimber supplies rack and pinion vertical access products to more than 250 clients, in Europe, North America and Asia. It has 225 employees, operates a well-invested production facility in Poland, and sells its products through a network of distributors and sales agents globally. Industry forecasts expect MCWP products to be used increasingly as an alternative to traditional scaffolding as construction methods increasingly take into account workers’ health and safety. Counter Brands, parent company of Beautycounter, a leader in safer skin care and cleaner cosmetics, has secured a strategic investment from single-family office Mousse Partners Limited.
The investment will accelerate the Company’s strategic initiatives, including the development of a more robust omni-channel business, and provide capital for investments in technology as well as digital and brand marketing. TPG Growth also participated in this round of financing, having previously invested in the Company in 2014. The terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.

MidOcean’s investment will be used to drive BH’s continued growth and expansion.

LightBay Capital (LightBay), a Los Angeles-based private equity firm focused on middle-market opportunities, has successfully completed fundraising for its inaugural institutional fund, LightBay Investment Partners, with total committed capital of USD615 million.
The oversubscribed Fund, which LightBay officially began marketing in April 2017, exceeded its target of USD450 million with commitments from a diverse investor group, which includes leading family offices, foundations, fund of funds, insurers, pension plans, and LightBay professionals.
LightBay is led by cofounders Nav Rahemtulla and Adam Stein, who were original members of Ares Management’s private equity group (Ares) where they invested together for over 15 years.
Capidea Management has held the first closing of its third private equity fund, Capidea Kapital III K/S with commitments of DKK750 million from a group of new and existing Danish and international investors. The Fund has a target of DKK1 billion.
Capidea was established in November 2006 with the objective of making buyout investments in competitive small and medium sized companies in Denmark. Today the firm is led by four partners, Erik Balleby Jensen, Jens Thøger Hansen, Nicolai Jungersen and Martin Jørgensen.
