Some 43,000 new aircraft are to be delivered over the next 20 years, according to the latest World Fleet Forecast from international aircraft leasing company Avolon.
The forecast projects growth in and changes to the global commercial jet fleet and includes forecasts of aircraft deliveries, retirements, funding requirements and passenger-to-freighter conversions.
Dick Forsberg, Avolon’s Head of Strategy and author of the paper, says: “The growth fundamentals of the airline industry remain strong for next two decades, and we expect that the cycles for aircraft orders and deliveries will continue to move in line with the broader economic cycle.

Global asset manager, Aberdeen Standard Investments has completed the fund raising for the SL Capital Secondary Opportunities Fund III (SOF III), with commitments of USD428 million from 31 investors.
The total is above the target of USD400 million and considerably higher than its predecessor fund, SOF II, which secured USD291 million of commitments at the final close in May 2015.
The geographical split of investors in SOF III is approximately 60 per cent UK and 40 per cent North America – from public and corporate pension schemes, multi-family offices and high net worth individuals.

Overall European private equity deal volume dropped 13 per cent in Q3 2017 compared with Q2 but remained marginally higher than Q1’s figure, according to preliminary figures released in the latest Private Equity Baromenter published by ‘unquote” and SL Capital Partners.
The combined value of European private equity backed deals slid 9.7 per cent but remains elevated compared to quarters in recent years, while average deal value in Q3 2017 was EUR95 million, up 4 per cent on the EUR91.4 million posted in Q2.

DH Private Equity Partners’ DH V Fund, and other shareholders have agreed to sell their entire stake in TMF Group, a provider of high value business services to organisations globally, to funds advised by CVC Capital Partners for EUR1.75 billion.
The transaction is expected to close in the first half of 2018 subject to regulatory approvals.
