Cybersecurity specialist Trend Micro Incorporated has launched a corporate venture fund to explore emerging technology markets. With an initial investment of USD100 million, this venture fund will allow Trend Micro to nurture a portfolio of startups that are incubating ideas and living at the epicenter of hyper growth markets, such as the Internet of Things (IoT). The Guernsey funds sector enjoyed its largest growth in four years during the first quarter of 2017. The latest figures from the Guernsey Financial Services Commission show that the net asset value of funds under management and administration in the island grew by GBP10.6 billion (4.1 per cent) over the quarter – the highest margin of growth since the first quarter of 2013, when funds grew by GBP19.7 billion. Forterra, a manufacturer of water infrastructure pipe and products in the United States and Eastern Canada, is to sell the US concrete and steel pressure pipe assets of its Water Pipe and Products business segment to Thompson Pipe Group. The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to close in the third quarter of 2017.    Under the terms of the agreement, an affiliate of Thompson Pipe Group will acquire assets related to five Forterra manufacturing facilities and a fittings facility.
