Alternative lender Growth Street has revealed that 37.4 per cent of its investors are under the age of 35, contradicting public figures who have chastised millennials for not thinking about saving and investment.
Growth Street’s news follows comments made by property mogul Tim Gurner earlier this month. In an interview, Gurner asserted that spending too much on avocados has contributed to lower levels of homeownership among millennial consumers.
Last year, the FT asserted that “20-somethings feel financially doomed so do not save”.

ViraTherapeutics, a biopharmaceutical company developing virus-based immunotherapeutics, which is backed by Boehringer Ingelheim Venture Fund (BIVF), has appointed Dr Heinz Schwer as CEO.
He takes over the position from interim CEO and co-founder Professor Dr Dorothee von Laer, who will remain a scientific adviser.

AB Tasty has secured a USD17 million Series B investment from Korelya Capital and Partech Ventures, with participation from previous investors Xange Private Equity and Omnes Capital.

Private equity firm Irving Place Capital (IPC) has agreed to sell thermal technology company Chromalox to Spirax-Sarco Engineering, a UK-based company specialising in the control and efficient use of steam and other industrial fluids, for USD415 million in cash.
Completion of the transaction is subject to customary closing conditions.
Chromalox is a technology company that delivers temperature management and process heating solutions for customers in a diverse range of industrial markets.
