Peer-to-peer (P2P) business lending platform ArchOver, has become the first UK lender to partner with Escalate, a fixed-cost commercial dispute resolution service for SMBs.
The partnership will enhance ArchOver’s ability to provide secure loans to the SME market, helping borrowers to bring in disputed payments and enhancing security for lenders as a result.
Escalate’s rapid no-win no-fee dispute resolution will enable ArchOver to recover any contested assets used as security for loans over the ArchOver platform, further enhancing its market-leading secured lending services. Private equity firm Warburg Pincus has completed its acquisition of a 35 per cent stake in tfintech company Avaloq, a specialist in integrated and comprehensive banking solutions.
Under the partnership announced on 22 March 2017, Avaloq will be able to capitalise on Warburg Pincus’ expertise and network in the financial services and fintech sectors to accelerate the company’s long-term growth and value creation strategy.
Investec has agreed to sell 18 aircraft from its managed leasing funds to funds managed by Oaktree Capital Management, L.P., working in conjunction with World Star Aviation.
The transaction includes 15 narrow body Boeing 737-800 and Airbus A320-200 aircraft, two wide body Boeing 777-300ER aircraft and an Airbus A330-300 aircraft. The aircraft are on lease to 12 global airlines, including flag carriers Air China, Air France, and LCCs, such as Wizz Air and IndiGo.

Eco-friendly coffee specialist Halo Coffee is looking to raise GBP1.6m to aggressively grow the business in the UK and globally through a fundraising campaign on private investor platform Growthdeck.
Since its launch in early 2016, Growthdeck has raised GBP7.3 million for a range of growth companies.

Cooper Parry Corporate Finance has promoted Ben Rookes to partner. Rookes joined the firm as a graduate 15 years ago and has risen through the ranks from associate to partner, becoming a fundamental member of the team.
During his career, Rookes has been involved in a number of significant deals including BGF’s recent investment in Johnsons Aggregates and Recycling.
Cooper Parry Corporate Finance has also appointed Tom Summers as a senior manager. He joined the firm from RSM.
Summers’ experience includes company sales, management buy-outs and private equity transactions, including a number of sales to overseas trade buyers.

Bank Leumi has made three key hires to its growing legal team in recent months. Christopher Gawley was appointed First Vice President in May, while Gerri Alfino and Sol Bernstein recently joined the bank as Executive Vice President, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary, and First Vice President, respectively.
Gawley will provide legal counsel to Leumi Investment Services (LISI), Leumi’s brokerage subsidiary, across areas including sales and trading, marketing, research, compliance and new product review.
