Dentons has appointed Giulio Andreani as a partner in the law firm’s tax practice in Italy.
He joins along with a team of five, including senior counsel Giuseppe Ferrara, senior associates Irene Avanzini, Giacomo D’Angelo and associates Erika Andreani and Valeria Andreani.
They will be based in Dentons’ Milan office.
In 2016, Andreani was named “Tax Litigation Lawyer of the Year” at both the TopLegal Awards and Legalcommunity Tax Awards. He is also recommended by Chambers & Partners as one of the leading tax lawyers in Italy.
Andreani is renowned for his experience in tax litigation,
French private equity firm Activa Capital has appointed Xavier Govare, former president of Labeyrie Fine Foods, as chairman of the company’s industrial committee.
He succeeds Philippe du Mesnil, former president of Ceva Santé Animale.
Du Mesnil will remain fully active on the industrial committee, of which he has been a productive member for more than 14 years.
The industrial committee is composed of 15 renowned industry experts who support the Activa Capital team in the study of investment opportunities and the monitoring of portfolio companies.

Fundamental exceeded its target for Fund III.
A majority of Fundamental’s existing investors committed to the fund, alongside a diverse group of new investors including state and corporate pensions, foundations, financial institutions, and ultra-high net worth platforms.

Social Native, a platform for branded content on demand, has closed a USD8 million seed round.
Social Native received extensive interest from investors in the wake of the company’s early success creating content for brands like Polaroid, Walgreens and General Motors.
In an oversubscribed round, Social Native attracted funds from a number of leading venture capital firms including SoftBank Capital.

Dallas-based Preston Hollow Capital (PHC), an independent specialty finance company, has appointed Matthew Challis as executive director.
Challis brings an extensive public finance background to PHC, most recently as a Managing Director with RBC Capital Markets, and previously holding senior vice president roles with Jefferies’ Municipal Securities Group and Piper Jaffray’s Public Finance Group.
He joins the originations team at PHC, headed by managing director Ramiro Albarran.

Nexxus Capital has completed its investment in Immuno Holding, (IMMUNOTEC), which, through its subsidiaries, is dedicated to the development and commercialisation of nutritional supplements through multi-level direct sales channels.
The investment was carried out by Nexus Capital Private Equity Fund VI and Nexxus Capital VI Trust in association with Mauricio Domenzain, who has industry experience in Mexico, the US and other countries as a former executive of a direct selling company.
Domenzain will assume the leadership of the team of executives and collaborators in Mexico, Canada and the US.

Audax Private Equity has completed the sale of Aavid Thermalloy to Boyd Corporation, a portfolio company of Genstar Capital Management.
Aavid, founded in 1964 and headquartered in Laconia, New Hampshire, provides a broad range of technologically advanced thermal management solutions for aerospace and defence, telecommunications, LED lighting, server, data centre, consumer electronics, transportation, and industrial applications to customers globally.
