Chequers Partenaires, a Paris-based private equity firm investing principally in control buyouts of European mid-market companies, has held the single and final closing of Chequers Capital XVII above its EUR1 billion target.
Established in 1972, Chequers Capital has been investing in unquoted companies in Continental Europe with a primary focus on France, DACH and Italy.

Henkel is to acquire Sonderhoff Holding, a provider of high-impact sealing solutions for industrial assembly based in Cologne, Germany.
With the acquisition of the privately owned company, Henkel will further enhance its sealants competence.
Foam-based sealing solutions are used in a variety of industrial applications, protecting lighting systems, filtration solutions or appliances against humidity and dust.
Sonderhoff is a manufacturer of foamed-in-place gasketing solutions for sealing and has broad expertise in developing and manufacturing customised dosing equipment.

Independent Growth Finance (IGF), a commercial finance provider for SMEs, has delivered a GBP650,000 facility to European Packaging Distributors (EPD), made up of a GBP500,000 invoice finance and a GBP150,000 revolving cashflow facility.
EPD sought a new finance partner as the incumbent financier was unable to offer the facilities to maintain its cashflow and allow the firm to purchase increased levels of stock from overseas suppliers.

SEAF has been appointed, through wholly-owned affiliates, as the general partner and investment manager of the Southeast Europe Equity Fund II and affiliated vehicle (SEEF II).
SEEF II is a USD320 million, 2006 vintage private equity fund that made control and significant-minority equity investments in companies operating in Southeast Europe and Turkey.
The current portfolio of six majority-owned investments are located in Turkey, Romania, Albania, and Kosovo, and reflect SEEF II’s activity in the healthcare, financial services, and telecommunications and media sectors.

ACON Investments has held the final closing of ACON Equity Partners IV (AEP IV) with commitments of approximately USD1.07 billion, the fund’s hard cap.
The fund represents ACON’s fourth US investment fund targeting mid-market control investments primarily in US businesses.
AEP IV was significantly oversubscribed in relation to its target commitments of USD850 million with substantial re-commitments from existing ACON investors as well as several new limited partners.
The fund’s investors include public and private pensions, sovereign wealth funds, insurance companies and other institutional investors from North America, Asia, and Europe.

Carlton James Group, a private investment group specialising in diversified portfolios, has launched the Carlton James Diversified Alpha Fund, a regulated mutual fund listed on the Cayman Islands Stock Exchange (CSX).

Innova Capital, a CEE private equity fund, is to acquire almost 75 per cent in the Polish seating manufacturer Profim.
The transaction is expected to close in Q2 2017, after clearance by the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK). The parties have not disclosed the value of the transaction.
Two of the founders of Profim, including its CEO Ryszard Rychlik, will continue as shareholders.
