Alliant has expanded its presence in the Gulf Coast region with the opening of a New Orleans office, which will be manned by Christian Chauvin and Noah Hardie.

Law firm Howard Kennedy has advised Cenkos Securities on the GBP3.2 million fund raising by the AIM traded company, MedaPhor Group plc.
This secondary fund raising was effected via a share placing, with Cenkos acting as Nomad and Broker to MedaPhor Group plc.
MedaPhor Group plc is a global provider of world leading ultrasound training simulators for medical professionals. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Britain are planning to invest for future growth, according to new research from specialist lending and savings Bank, Aldermore. The new data shows SMEs are proactively looking for opportunities to grow over the next five years.
The Aldermore SME Outlook 2016 found that almost four out of every 10 (39 per cent) businesses surveyed intend to hire more staff over the next five years to foster growth, while more than a fifth (22 per cent) plan to invest in new assets such as machinery or vehicles to increase productivity. UK-based private equity house Maven Capital Partners (Maven) has completed a GBP2.5 million investment in The GP Service (UK) Limited (GPS), a provider of online services for general medical consultations and prescriptions.
The investment will enable GPS to accelerate the roll-out of its service across new geographical locations, and develop a range of products and services where there are strong market drivers.

Funds advised by CVC Capital Partners have completed the sale of Education International Corporation (EIC) to a consortium led by NLD Investment (NLD), a Chinese private equity fund, in partnership with the management and the founder of EIC.
Financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed.

BlackRock has completed the final close of its third direct co-investment private equity fund – BlackRock Private Opportunities Fund III (POF III) – with over USD630 million in total commitments.
Investors include public and private pension funds, insurers and foundations in North America and Europe.
The fund close comes at a time when investors are increasingly embracing alternative investments, such as private equity. An AIM listing is the planned exit strategy for less than a quarter (23 per cent) of UK technology entrepreneurs, according to new research from law firm Nabarro. This is despite the strong demand from AIM investors for opportunities to invest in the tech sector.
Technology sector stocks made up an average 31 per cent of the portfolios of the investors interviewed by Nabarro, with 88 per cent planning to increase (53 per cent) or maintain (35 per cent) their exposure to AIM tech stocks in the next five years.
