Colony Capital  has appointed Christophe G de Taurines as Managing Director—European Investor Relations. Based in Colony’s London office, de Taurines, 50, will principally be responsible for expanding Colony’s investor relationships in Europe, while also helping with the firm’s European strategy and operations.   De Taurines was Founder and CEO of Capital & Marketing Group, a capital marketing advisory firm, which advised on and raised capital of over USD 20 billion for alternative investment managers, including Colony Capital. Imperial Innovations Group has secured a new GBP50 million loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB) to support investment in the UK biotech and life science sector. Baltic private equity fund manager BaltCap has signed an investment agreement with Latvian chocolate specialist Pure Chocolate to finance fast growth of the company. Pure Chocolate is a chocolate truffles and other chocolate products producer with a strong market position in Latvia and sales to 20 export markets globally. The company reached EUR 3.35 million turnover in 2014. Bluestem Group has completed its acquisition of Orchard Brands Corporation for USD410 million in cash, subject to customary purchase price adjustments. The transaction will broaden and diversify the customer base and retail capabilities of Bluestem Group’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Bluestem Brands, Inc.   The acquisition was funded with a combination of cash on-hand, a new term debt syndication, and a new asset-based lending facility. The term debt was underwritten by Credit Suisse Securities (USA) LLC and Morgan Stanley Senior Funding Inc., while Credit Suisse and U.S. Bank National Association led the asset based lending facility. Providence Equity Partners has closed its first fund with USD315 million of equity commitments. The fund was oversubscribed, exceeded its target of USD250 million, and hit its hard cap.  The fund received commitments from many existing and new Providence investors, including corporate pensions, family offices and high net worth individuals.
