HarbourVest Partners has appointed Kevin Warn-Schindel as a Managing Director based in Boston to lead the Real Assets investment program.
This includes a focus on energy, infrastructure, natural resources, and real estate.

Maranon Capital has appointed Theresa D Mozzocci as a Principal and promoted Andrew C Eshelman to Vice President.
Mozzocci has over 20 years of experience in business development and alternative investment strategies. At Maranon, she will focus on fund raising and investor relations. Previously, Mozzocci was with Cantor Fitzgerald Investment Advisors, Crestline Investors, William Blair & Company, and Duff & Phelps Investment Management.
Mozzocci earned an MBA from the Kellstadt Graduate School of Business, DePaul University and a BBA from the University of Wisconsin. She is also a CFA charter holder.

Venture capital and private equity activity posted strong results in 2014, according to the Canadian Venture Capital & Private Equity Association's (CVCA) 2014 VC and PE Market Activity report.
There was a total of 379 venture capital deals during the year with CAD1.9 billion invested, and 296 private equity deals with CAD41.2 billion invested last year.

Private equity firm PAI Partners is to acquire AS Adventure Group a European retailer of outdoor equipment and clothing, from Lion Capital LLP.
The senior management team will continue to lead the Group and will reinvest alongside PAI.

Established in 2001 by the Kaye family, Prezzo plc is a 251-unit restaurant operator in the UK casual dining sector. Jim Dondero, Co-Founder and President of Highland Capital Management, has been named Senior Portfolio Manager of the firm's Energy MLP Fund, effective 1 February, 2015.
Dondero joins Jon Poglitsch, CFA and Matthew Gray, CFA as lead managers of the fund. Dondero, Poglitsch and Gray will be responsible for all of the investment decisions of the fund.
