Private investment firm SK Capital Partners has closed SK Capital Partners IV with total limited partner commitments at its hard cap of USD1 billion.
The fundraising process was completed in five months with a single closing. Fund IV’s limited partners include endowments, foundations, insurance companies, state and corporate pension plans, fund of funds and large family offices.

Law firm Noerr has advised private equity investor Zurmont Madison on the sale of the firms majority holding in RÖDER Zeltsysteme und Service AG to RAG-Stiftung.
With RÖDER, RAG-Stiftung is acquiring one of the world’s largest providers of mobile room solutions. The company based in Bündigen, Hesse, which has over 500 employees, achieved turnover of approximately EUR80 million in 2013. Zurmont Madison acquired the majority in 2007 and financed targeted further growth of the company. RÖDER will continue under the existing management after the acquisition.
Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
Private equity firm DPI has acquired a strategic minority stake HomeChoice International (HomeChoice), a leading omni-channel home shopping retailer in southern Africa, from the the company’s majority shareholder.
Founded in 1985, by Rick Garratt, HomeChoice has operations in South Africa and five other countries, Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia, Swaziland and Zambia, with total EBITDA of R450 million as of December 2013 and a customer base of more than one million people. HomeChoice is a home shopping retailer selling homeware merchandise and financial services products to the rapidly expanding urban middle-income mass market in southern Africa.

Workers will not only be worse off when their firm is taken over by private equity through an institutional buyout (IBO), but their company’s performance will fall behind its rivals.

Creation of the new fund marks the first time a venture capital company from Silicon Valley has launched business operations in Bangladesh.
