Gilde Healthcare and the other shareholders are selling their entire stake in Definiens AG to MedImmune/AstraZeneca.
Gilde Healthcare is a growth capital firm specialised in the healthcare sector. MedImmune is the global biologics research and development arm of AstraZeneca. The sale marks Gilde’s eighth exit in the past year. An initial consideration of USD 150 million will be paid for all the shares in Definiens, followed by additional predetermined milestone payments.

In a speech to shareholders of Albion Ventures, Simon Walker urged the government to extend to venture capital trusts the exemption from inheritance tax that investments in Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS) and Seed Enterprise Investment Scheme (SEIS) schemes currently enjoy.

International investment bank Altium has advised Castik Capital on its recommended cash offer for the entire share capital of Waterlogic, a global distributor of drinking water purification and dispensing systems.

Patron Capital is selling a minority stake of up to 23 per cent of its portfolio company Generator to Invesco Ltd in exchange for up to EUR60m of growth capital.
Invesco’s stake in Generator is the inaugural investment by Invesco’s second opportunistic strategy, focussed on real-estate-related investments in both the US and Europe and co-managed by Invesco Real Estate, WL Ross & Co, and Invesco Fixed Income.
