Carolon Capital and Red Rocks Capital are planning to launch a UCITS fund with an investment strategy focused on listed private equity.
The Red Rocks Global Private Equity UCITS Fund is targeted for launch in late 2014 or early 2015 subject to various regulatory approvals from the Central Bank of Ireland.
Through an open-ended structure, the fund will be organised as a sub-fund of a Dublin based corporate entity, Carolon Investment Funds plc, which will be a variable capital investment company. The authorisation of Carolon Investment is subject to regulatory approval.

David Wilton is to join Morgan Stanley Alternative Investment Partners (AIP) as a managing director with a focus on private equity impact investing.
AIP will develop a private equity impact investing programme in partnership with the Morgan Stanley Institute for Sustainable Investing, which seeks to drive private capital toward investments promoting sustainable and profitable economic growth.
Wilton joins Morgan Stanley from the International Finance Corporation (IFC), where he was chief investment officer and manager of its global private equity arm. During his time at IFC, he helped build out the private equity portfolio to more than USD4 billion invested
HIG Growth Partners has made an investment in Boostability, a provider of search engine optimisation (SEO), local search, website creation, social and other digital marketing services.
Headquartered in Lehi, Utah, Boostability uses its proprietary management software platform to perform thousands of marketing tasks each day.
The company’s founders started the company in January 2009 with the idea of creating affordable and effective SEO services for the small business marketplace. Boostability has over 500 employees in the US, Canada and Australia.

Private equity firm Encore Consumer Capital has completed the sale of The Isopure Company to Glanbia plc, the Ireland-based global performance nutrition and ingredients company, for USD153 million.

Covariance Capital Management, a provider of outsourced endowment management services to educational, healthcare and other non-profits, has appointed Kevin Nee as chief executive officer.
Nee will be responsible for the strategic leadership of the business, including new business development and day-to-day oversight of operations and finance.
Scott W Wise, who has led Covariance as president and chief investment officer since its launch in 2011, will remain in those roles.

Funds managed by affiliates of Apollo Global Management have launched Alteri Investors, a joint venture focused on financing opportunities arising across performing, stressed and distressed retail sector situations in Europe.
Structured as a partnership between funds managed under Apollo’s credit business (Apollo Credit) and a team led by former GA Europe chief executive Gavin George, Alteri will initially focus on the UK and Germany.
It expects to invest in retailers through both debt and equity transactions, typically in the GBP10 million to GBP50 million range, with additional capacity for larger transactions.
Alteri will also seek to lend to retailers directly,
International law firm Pinsent Masons has appointed corporate dealmaker Barry McCaig to head up its 280-strong Glasgow office.
McCaig has been with the firm for 14 years since qualifying as a lawyer and is one of 11 Pinsent Masons partners and directors in Scotland.
In the last year he has been integral in a number of big ticket acquisitions and fund-raisings.
He recently advised Blue Water Energy in the launch of exploration company Siccar Point Energy which has a GBP300 million war chest for North Sea oil and gas development, provided equity advice to TDR and Sun Capital
