Garth T Troxell has joined Summer Street Capital, a Buffalo, New York-based private equity fund, as a partner.  Troxell will be actively engaged in all aspects of Summer Street's investment activities and portfolio management, and will lead Summer Street's investor relations efforts.    Troxell has a diverse experience base spanning consulting, private equity, and investment banking.  Prior to joining Summer Street, he served as a consultant to investment banking and private equity clients.  From 2002 to 2012, he was with Altius Associates, the private equity consulting and fund of funds firm, most recently as a partner and executive director.   
Pan-European mid-market private equity firm Stirling Square Capital Partners has appointed Jonathan Heathcote as a partner and Matteo Nichil as an executive to the firm. Heathcote joins from Palamon Capital Partners where he was one of six partners responsible for the origination, execution and management of European mid-market investments, primarily in Spain, Germany and the UK.    Prior to this, Heathcote was a consultant to Stirling Square in 2007-08 and was involved in a number of notable transactions during that time, including the acquisition of Italian aerospace company Microtecnica.  He was a partner at European Acquisition Capital in 2002-07 and
HarbourVest Global Private Equity’s (HVPE) estimated net asset value per share at the end of October was USD13.13, a USD0.08 per share increase from the 30 September 2013 estimate of USD13.05 and a USD0.67 per share (five per cent) increase from 31 January 2013.  This change mainly reflects increases for privately-held securities as a portion of the portfolio was revalued to reflect final 30 September 2013 results. Law firm Eversheds has advised workforce payment solutions provider FleetCor Technologies on the acquisition of Epyx, a technology solutions provider to the fleet sector, from HgCapital. Epyx provides an internet based system and vehicle repair network to fleet operators in the UK. The company services approximately 9000 garages and automates vehicle maintenance and repair needs.   The acquisition strengthens FleetCor’s product offering in the fleet sector, enabling the company to expand its services from fleet fuelling to fleet maintenance.

Funds managed by The Carlyle Group are to acquire a controlling equity stake in Edgewood Partners Insurance Center (EPIC), a retail insurance broker headquartered in California. Carlyle's investment will enable EPIC to continue to execute its organic growth strategy and support strategic acquisitions of complementary insurance distribution platforms throughout the US.   Founded in July 2007 by John Hahn and Dan Francis, in partnership with funds managed by Stone Point Capital, EPIC has approximately USD80m in annual revenues.
