Funds advised by Triton have sold logistics specialist Dematic to private equity investor AEA Investors and Teachers’ Private Capital (TPC), the private equity arm of Canadian pension fund Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan.
As part of the transaction, around EUR450m of outstanding bonds will be redeemed.
Dematic has sales of approximately EUR1bn and serves worldwide customers with around 4,500 employees across the globe. The parties to the transaction have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.

Monroe Capital is launching a new healthcare finance company to assist lower middle-market healthcare companies in meeting their liquidity needs to fund working capital, growth initiatives, expansion and refinance existing debt.
The new firm, MC Healthcare Finance, will provide short-term, asset-based funding for healthcare companies located throughout the US.
MC Healthcare will be led by James Irwin, the former founder of Meridian Healthcare Finance, and Terry Cady, a founder of three specialised healthcare asset-based lending firms, each having more than 30 years of corporate finance experience.

Adictiz, a social and mobile gaming specialist, has closed its first EUR2m round of financing from Omnes Capital (formerly Crédit Agricole Private Equity), which will help it to pursue its strategy of expansion in France and abroad.
Founded in 2009 by 27-year-old Charles Christory, Adictiz has authored web and mobile games such as “Space Dog”, “Animal Story” and “What a Stupid Pigeon”.
With over 30 million players since its inception, the company boasts close to 2.5 million active players every month on the web and mobiles generating over 200 million monthly advertising impressions.

Actis, the pan-emerging markets private equity firm, has signed key financing and government agreements in the construction of three renewable energy projects in South Africa.
Actis portfolio company Globeleq is part of the consortium building the 138 megawatt (MW) Jeffrey’s BayWind Farm on the Eastern Cape, the 50 MW photovoltaic (PV) solar farm in De Aar, and the 50 MW PV solar farm in Droogfontein, both in the Northern Cape.
Construction will commence shortly and the plants are expected to be fully operational by mid-2014.

The aggregate value of technology mergers and acquisitions (M&A) fell 52 per cent year-on-year (YOY) and 15 per cent compared with the previous quarter to USD28.2bn in the third quarter of 2012, according to Ernst & Young’s Global technology M&A update.

Actis, the pan-emerging markets private equity firm, has held the IPO of the Ugandan electricity company Umeme.
The share application period for Umeme, which has been an Actis investment since 2005, closed last week more than 35 per cent oversubscribed, with particular demand from East African institutions and Ugandan retail customers. The offering is one of the largest in the Ugandan market.
The offer price of 275 Ugandan shillings (USD10.5 cents) values 100 per cent of Umeme at USD165m. The total number of shares on offer was 622.38 million, split between 272.4 million new (primary) stock and 350 million
