Collas Crill has opened the doors to its new Singapore office – making it the first Channel Islands-based law firm to do so.
Sean Cheong, formerly a partner in Collas Crill’s Guernsey office, has relocated to Singapore to head up the new office. She has been joined by office manager Rachel Leong.

CME Group and the Mexican Derivatives Exchange (MexDer) have launched a north-to-south order routing agreement, giving customers in the US access to MexDer’s benchmark derivatives contracts, including Mexican Stock Exchange Index Futures, Bond Futures and MXN Peso/US Dollar Futures Contracts.
The first phase of the project, CME Group strategic partnership with MexDer went live April 4, 2011 and gave Mexican investors access to CME Group’s benchmark derivatives contracts including interest rates, foreign currencies, equity indexes, energy, metals and agricultural commodities.

Composition Capital Partners has expanded its European deal team with the appointment of Danish national Julie Helweg as of 1 August 2011.
Helweg’s role within the team will be to manage existing investments within Composition’s Europe Funds I & II, and to undertake research & due diligence for the selection of new investment opportunities for Composition’s Europe Fund III. Julie makes her move to Composition from Property Group in Copenhagen where she was responsible for acquisition and management of commercial real estate in the Nordics. Prior to this, she spent time with McKinsey & Company in Denmark.

Diamond S Shipping has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire 30 medium-range refined product carriers to add to its fleet of ten tankers under construction in Korean shipyards.
The 30 product carriers and related charters are being purchased from Cido Tanker Holding Co under a definitive agreement which is scheduled to close, subject to customary conditions, in this calendar quarter. The ten newbuild tankers, eight Suezmax tankers and two LR2 tankers, are being constructed by Hyundai Heavy Industries and Samsung Heavy Industries, with the first delivery scheduled for January, 2012.

A syndicate of xénos investors led by Graham Handley has made an undisclosed investment in Cardiff-based film and TV production group, All2gethr Industries, a group of production companies committed to micro-budget feature filmmaking and developing new media channels, such as gaming, mobile and the internet.
“All2gethr Industries is an exciting group of production companies with ambitious plans to develop, produce and distribute original and innovative micro-budget feature films. Private equity firm Warburg Pincus is partnering with The Mutual Fund Store to further expand and develop the US investment adviser’s operations.
Warburg Pincus will bring its investment and expertise to the company, which will continue to be run by founder and CEO Adam Bold and his management team. Terms of the transactions were not disclosed.

Private equity group GMT Communications Partners (GMT) has teamed up with MeetingZone’s existing management team to acquire the fast-growing independent conferencing and collaboration service provider, for a total consideration of GBP38.5 million.
MeetingZone generated revenue of GBP11 million in the financial year ending March 2011. The company has operations in the UK, North America and Germany, and is expected to grow turnover by more than 20% in the current financial year ending March 2012, in line with revenue CAGR of 20% recorded over the last three financial years, and significantly in excess of market growth.
