Bandwidth.com has closed a USD22 million private equity financing from Carmichael Partners, a growth equity investment firm that was co-founded in 2010 by former FCC Chairman Kevin Martin and veteran private equity investor Brian Bailey.
The funding enables Bandwidth.com to continue the company’s expansion into key strategic areas, such as the recent acquisition of 911 emergency services provider dash Carrier Services, and accelerate the already rapid growth of its small and medium business focused services, such as Phonebooth, Bandwidth.com’s popular cloud-based phone service which doubled its customer base in the last quarter alone.

PineBridge Investments’ PineBridge Gateway Partners private equity team has signed an investment agreement to partner with Ulusal Faktoring AS (Ulusal), a non-bank financial services company in Turkey. PineBridge Gateway Partners invests across Turkey, Middle East, Africa, and Russia/Former Soviet Union.
Ulusal is focused on providing financing for the fast growing small-and-medium-sized companies market in Turkey. The company is headquartered in Istanbul and led by Chairman Kurt K. Jolker and CEO Izak Koenka. Ulusal is one of the ten largest independent factoring companies in Turkey. At closing, the investment will make PineBridge a significant minority shareholder in the company.

BNY Mellon Alternative Investment Services (AIS) has named Jim Whitaker head of Relationship Management for the Americas and Mark Mannion head of Relationship Management for EMEA.
Whitaker assumes a role held previously by Marina Lewin, who was recently named Global Head of Sales for AIS. Mannion assumes the new title having transitioned from his role as Managing Director of European Business for the former PNC Global Investment Servicing unit acquired by BNY Mellon last year.

EIG Global Energy Partners (EIG) and HM Capital Partners (HM) will form a new partnership to grow the Eagle Ford shale-focused BlackBrush Oil & Gas LP and TexStar Midstream Services LP.
EIG has committed USD420 million of capital (USD220 million equity and a USD200 million senior credit facility) for a controlling interest in the partnership with HM contributing its existing interest in San Antonio, TX-based BlackBrush and TexStar Midstream Services.
BlackBrush has 70,000 acres under lease in the Eagle Ford shale while TexStar Midstream Services has been expanding its 125 mile low pressure gathering system in Frio and LaSalle Counties
Elliott Advisors (UK) Ltd (Elliott), the second largest shareholder in National Express Group plc (National Express), with approximately 17 per cent share ownership through funds managed by the firm, has announced its support for three new, experienced independent candidates to join the National Express Board of Directors.

Private equity firm GTCR has successfully completed the acquisition of Sterigenics International, Inc, a leading global provider of contract sterilisation and ionisation services for medical devices, food products, and advanced applications, from Silverfleet Capital and PPM America Capital Partners.

CertiVox, a new information security company, has received GBP900,000 (USD1,460,000) in Series A funding from Pentech Ventures and Octopus Investments, both based in the UK.
The funds will be used to develop and bring to market CertiVox’s key management infrastructure as a service (IaaS).
