French business law firm FTPA is advising Franck Michel, court administrator, and Cosme Rogeau, court liquidator, in connection with the sale of Nortel Networks’ assets. Markstone Capital, a private equity firm based in Tel Aviv, has reached an agreement with the New York State Attorney General ending the pension fund inquiry related to the conduct of former chairman, Elliott Broidy. In December 2009 Broidy resigned from the firm and pleaded guilty to one count of rewarding official misconduct. US venture capital investment in cleantech companies in Q4 2009 decreased 45 per cent to USD564.5m compared to the prior quarter, while the number of deals increased 21 per cent to 62, according to an Ernst & Young analysis based on data from Dow Jones VentureSource.  Investment in 2009 reached USD2.6bn in 193 financings rounds, a decline of 50 per cent in terms of dollars and 16 per cent in terms of deals compared to the record investment levels of 2008.
