Robert Bendiner Weiss has joined Kramer Levin as a partner in the firm’s New York office. He will practice in the Investment Management group, broadening its private fund formation practice. Weiss focuses on private fund formation and advises clients on private equity, credit, ESG and venture fund structures as well as transactional and regulatory matters relating to investment funds. Weiss comes to Kramer Levin from K&L Gates. He earned his JD from the University of Virginia School of Law and his AB from Princeton University.

Oil wells
Energy focussed private equity firm EnCap Investments has agreed to sell Advance Energy Partners Holdings, a Texas-based oil and natural gas producer, to Matador Resources in a deal worth $1.6 billion, according to a report by Bloomberg.
Private equity firm Bain Capital is in talks with Blackstone to acquire around 50% of its stake in Embassy Office Parks, India’s largest real estate investment trust (REIT), in a deal worth up to $480 million, according to a report by Reuters.
Oaktree Capital Management, a US-based private investment firm focussed on distressed debt investment strategies, has sold an additional stake of 25.2 million shares in the Oslo-listed product tanker unit of BW Group, Hafnia, according to a report by Splash247. Oaktree-controlled OCM Luxembourg Chemical Tankers used Fearnley Securities, Jefferies and Pareto Securities to execute a block sale of existing shares equal to approximately 5.01% of the business, through a private placement, at a price of NOK50 per share, which equates to approximately NOK1.26 billion ($127.6 million). Schroders Capital, the specialist private assets division of the Schroders Group, has been awarded a £500 million private equity mandate by the Wales Pension Partnership, a collaboration of the eight local government pension scheme funds in Wales and one of eight national local government pension pools.
The Greater Manchester Pension Fund has committed a further £100 million to Gresham House’s Sustainable Infrastructure strategy which focusses on investment in solutions to address environmental and societal challenges in the North West of the UK, and support levelling up throughout the country.
